Coastguard Kāpiti
- Coastguard Kapiti Coast was formed in February 2006 from the then coastguard units of the Kapiti Boating Club and the Waikanae Boating Club. The Kapiti section had its genesis in the early days of the KBC (around 1957) when a primary reason for the club was the cooperative safety net provided by all members and their boats. This developed into dedicated rescue boats in the 1980’s. The Waikanae Boating Club was formed in the 1960s and the coastguard section developed in a similar way.

Save the Basin Reserve!
- The Basin Reserve is one of the world's iconic cricket grounds, and New Zealand's oldest dedicated cricket pitch. It's an oasis of green space in the heart of the capital. But there is widespread community concern about the intention of three government agencies - the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA), the Greater Wellington Regional Council (GWRC) and the Wellington City Council (WCC) - to build a huge concrete flyover across the northern side of the Basin Reserve, destroying the atmosphere of the Basin Reserve forever.

Upper Hutt Football
- Upper Hutt City Football, as the club is now known, was formed following the amalgamation of three separate football clubs. Club football originated in Upper Hutt with the formation of Upper Hutt United in the 1920s and Tararua United formed as an alternative Club in the 1970s. Upper Valley Wanderers formed in the 1980s as an independent Club for Women’s Football. In the late 1990s the three Clubs amalgamated, with new Clubrooms built at Harcourt Park, as the Tararua Sports Club. A meeting convened in 1998 agreed that all football teams would play as Upper Hutt City Soccer in acknowledgement of the club’s links with and support from the local Upper Hutt City community.
