      • Many of you will have heard that Andy Rutter, former Assistant Course Superintendent at Waikanae, has been appointed Course Superintendent to replace the recently departed Darren Shaw.  Andy has been a great worker over several years and has learnt his trade at our course.  It is, therefore, most fitting that we are now reaping the benefit of his training and considerable experience and expertise.

      • The following table outlines our current membership figures as at 21 April and compares them to the same period last year.  The expected decline in those taking out full membership (about 50) has occurred but this has been offset in some part by increase in subscriptions.  This is just a snapshot as new members join us regularly.  These figures are robust, however, since they include no one from l

      • Now that Blair has left, the Executive Committee has put in place arrangements that ensure our office is open each week day from 9am till 5.30pm.  This has been possible with the assistance of volunteers who are rostered to cover the times Margaret is not available, which are Tuesday-Friday between 9am and 10.30am.

      • As earlier indicated, work on re-sealing the car park is due to start within a week???  We will all be mightily relieved when we no longer have to dodge the ever increasing and deepening potholes that are such a feature at present.  For at least a day or two, no vehicles will be able to enter this area.  This means we will all have to park on the roadside – an inevitable convenience but one that w

      • A classic local derby full of controversy, goalkeeping howlers, total commitment, raucous home support and a fortunate 4-3 victory for the Pints. The absurd length of the Pints subs bench meant there was a continuous rolling sub situation and what seemed often to be a minimum of 13 players on the pitch for them at any one time.

    • Dale Lang selected for the NZ Black Jacks
      • Dale Lang is now a member of the NZ Black Jacks Womens' Team. Dale has been selected to represent New Zealand in the Asia Pacific tournament being played in Malaysia during August. Within this 5-person team, Dale is playing 2 in the Triples & 3 in the Fours. The wider NZ squad of 9 also includes Kaaren Guildford from Johnsonville and Clare McCaul from Silverstream.

With despair amongst the team, a letter of protest was sent off to Capital Football asking why the team that finished second was promoted and the team that finished first for the last two seasons was remaining in Division B. As with Capital Football, the letter was not even acknowledged.

      • On Saturday Island Bays Premier squad had a show down with Tawa, who were going to come out onto Redwood Park fresh off a Hilton Cup Final win, and looking to avenge their 2008 season (we won and drew with them which hampered their push for 1st place).In blustery condition, neither team could dominate, with possession, and composure, swinging both ways constantly during both halves of play.
