P2 Men Vs Hutt 23/06/07 Lost 2 - 5
- Upper Hutt Hockey Club
- Yet another game where we showed that we can match it with the best teams in the grade. The game started with us with most of the ball, however Hutt got the first goal of the game. We responded with a goal from Jason Eade to even it up at 1-1 in the 2nd half. Hutt then got a couple quick goals, due to us not marking well enough. Jason eade finished off the scoring with another goal from a good team attacking move. The game also included a strong first up appearance from Paul Gardiner filling in for an absent Chad at the back.

- Slapperz kitted up and warming up in familiar circular fashion, determined to maintain their league position. Backpackers are nowhere to be seen and as the clock ticks by suggestions of claiming all three points and retiring to the boozer are voiced, if only by Skid.

Public Service 11 vs Upper Hutt 1
- Brooklyn Northern United AFC
- We racked up another good score, but the Public Service left Upper Hutt a little deflated as we pretty much let the Upper Hutt Slayers (UHS) off the hook. The final score will show a command performance by the BNU Public Service, winning 11 goals to one. But with a 7-1 half time lead, it should have been much, much greater.

Thursday night at the Forum
- Save Crossways campaign
- Last night the community gathered at a public forum organised by the Mt Victoria Residents Association to listen to invited speakers and discuss how to proceed with saving Crossways. We also took the opportunity to thank the Councillors, council officers and the St Andrews church for all their hard work to hammer out a compromise that will allow the community the time to fund-raise. The meeting passed a resolution that a joint committee be formed between the Save Crossways group and the Residents Association, which will be tasked with gathering nominations for a Crossways community trust, and reporting back to the community within three weeks. We'll post the full text of the resolution as soon as we can, and some details on how you can nominate people to the Trust.

BNU Public Service 12 v. Petone Martians 1
- Brooklyn Northern United AFC
- Hoooooo baby. Look this is gonna be a rather shambolic effort. We scored lots. I can't remember them in order so this will be a series of short goal descriptions. 12 in all. That's right, 12.

Fantastic news!
- Save Crossways campaign
- At today's Strategy & Policy Committee meeting, the Council voted to give Crossways a 12 month reprieve by providing some interim funding to St Andrews. This will allow enough time for the community to form a trust, put together a plan to re-invent Crossways for the 21st Century, and conduct some serious fund-raising. It's not the three years we asked for, but it's fair, reasonable, and - most of all - achievable. It's a fantastic outcome! Our heart-felt thanks go to St Andrews for their flexibility and genuine commitment to finding a workable compromise, and to the Council who have allowed the community the time to re-invent our community house. We'll post more information about what needs to happen next as soon as we can.

BNU v. Lower Hutt, 0-3
- Brooklyn Northern United AFC
- Without a doubt this was a clash eagerly anticipated by all the BNU players. Come 2:30pm Saturday we would be playing on what was tipped to be the pitch of the season and the surface was the topic of conversation early in the week leading up to the game. But like many fields in the capital, it couldnâÂÂt cope with the consistent rain and Karori number 1 was underwater.

P2 Women Vs Kapiti - 17/06/07
- Upper Hutt Hockey Club
- P2 Women had a hard fought game vs Kapiti. Possession was fairly even with Kapiti eventually coming out the winners 3-1. Kat Bealing scored Upper Hutts goal with a fantastic reverse shot in the second half. Unfortunately we were unable to convert several other scoring opportunities, but did however manage to keep Kapiti scoreless in the second half. A great effort with no subs!!

P2 Men Vs Naenae 16/06/07
- Upper Hutt Hockey Club
- The mens team, minus their star centre who was away on pre-conjugal duties, faced a Naenae team that had earlier in the season handed them a 10 goal drubbing. The game was played at a good pace, with both sides having shots on goal during the early stages of the game.

Slapperz put 4 past Wellington United
- Karori Slapperz AFC
- The Slapperz faced Wellington United in round 11, a team whom we beat 4-2 in the first round in a scrappy performance. The return leg proved to be a much better performance by the Slapperz as they put Wellington to the sword, comfortably coming away with a 4-0 win.

Quick questions
- WellUrban
- Is it better to have a supermarket in Mt Cook, so that the locals can do their shopping on foot rather than taking a taxi from Thorndon via the bypass, or a swimming pool? Would replacing Crossways with 3-4 storeys of apartments, and creating a new set of community facilities on the ground floor, be a possible compromise that would keep Mt Vic residents happy?

Women's First Team v. University
- Brooklyn Northern United AFC
- The mighty women's first team played at Anderson Park on a chilly Sunday morning when most reasonable people were sensibly nursing their hangovers from the night before. Admittedly, an early kick off does have some advantages and their rewards were reaped all afternoon at the Southern Cross. Anyhow, onto the football.

R3 Woman vs YMCA 10/06/07
- Upper Hutt Hockey Club
- We had our 1st game on the new {Porirua} turf on Sunday and came away with a 2 - 0 win against YWCA! The new turf is very bouncy, is like playing on shag pile carpet! Hopefully will settle down after some use! A great goal scored by Sonja Jeffs on the left wing, was in the right spot at the right time for a beautiful cross from the right and nicely swept in! 2nd goal was a great deflection into the goal by Chrissy Potaka Kelly after a hit to the 'spot'! Good work by the Team! Lisa

P2 Men Vs Victoria 09/06/07
- Upper Hutt Hockey Club
- The Upper Hutt P2 mens team which has the largest squad in the past eight years found itself unusually short on Saturday - with only one sub. Still, Playing against Varsity, last years P2 winners, the team fought well. Victoria scored some very good goals (and luck seemed to be on thier side!). Upper hutt lost 5-1 in a game that could have been alot closer with us narrowly missing the goal on at least two occasions. Varstity broke away and scored very quickly on occasions but the general feeling amongst the team was that we dominated posession but unfortunately did not convert it into points. The jubilant celebrations from Varsity every time they scored was a tribute to the quality opposition they were up against. Goal was scored by someone who would like to remain anonymous (modest chap!) Murray

BNU Public Service 9 - {Porirua} City 1
- Brooklyn Northern United AFC
- Woo hoo. An excellent win on the weekend. A comprehensive thrashing of a team that probably should have done better but was beaten down by a Public Service that is starting to come into its own once again. An offence that has now realised 20 goals in its last three games and a defence that has given up only five goals in the ten matches played this season, suggest that this team is only getting better.
