Open day - be there!

- There will be an open day at Quartz Hill for supporters, all radio amateurs, SWLs, their families and friends, on Sunday 4 February 2007 - from 11:00 am onwards. You will be able to view the Quartz Hill facilities. This may be your last chance to see this fabulous facility in its current form as it is likely that we will have to dismantle antenna infrastructure over the coming year (to make way for the wind farm project).

Plum position

- As anyone who frequents Cuba St should know, Plum has been undergoing renovations for a while. The old Plum had been well-liked (as these reviews attest), but was starting to feel a little tired: perhaps somewhere between the late Krazy Lounge and Mr Bun. I expected little more than a lick of paint and some new furniture, so it's a bit of a surprise to see it in its sleek new incarnation by Alistar Cox of Matterhorn, Mojo and Mighty Mighty fame.

The light at the end of the tunnel

- Although we would hate you to think that we had an unnatural love for tunnels, we think it's only fair to warn you that new lights have been installed at either end of the Hataitai/Mt Vic tunnel that are so bright that you'll think you are outside in the sunshine already, even at night. It doesn't make people honk any less though.
