      • The Ngaio community now has an even greater chance of surviving a cardiac arrest, thanks to the generosity of the Freemason's Charity and Homewood Lodge 447. They have donated a defibrillator to the Cummings Park library. This is Ngaio's second defibrillator. Earlier in the year, Wellington North Rotary donated one to the Ngaio Medical Centre.

      • A $28 million marine education centre is being proposed for an old quarry site across the road from Wellington's southern coastline.  The trust has asked the council for a grant of up to $450,000 to half fund a detailed study, due to start next month.       • As a Junior Club we aim to provide a positive and nurturing cricketing environment for all our Primary School players from Nursery grade right though to Premier level. To that end we actively seek to provide an unrivalled level of service and support for players and parents to ensure that their experience of cricket and Collegians is a rewarding one. Player numbers were on a par with previous years, and with 34 teams and around 350 players across the age groups Collegians retained its status as one of the largest junior cricket clubs in Wellington.

      • Rebecca Kendall: I have been training for, and am incredibly excited about the Harbour CIty Marathon in a couple of weeks but wanted some advise (as it will be my first one) on nutrition during race.  Is it advisable to have extra gels or drinks available at the aid stations or is the energy drink provided sufficient?Would appreciate your help...

One of my group said it was ‘perfect running weather’ which was perhaps pushing it a bit, but it was not too bad. Then came the rest of the week and we are not looking too flash for the weekend. And it would appear that we are to have the same weather this coming Sunday. BUT – it has all been carefully orchestrated by the HarbourCapital Committee. If we get all this ghastly weather out of the way now, there will be none left
