    • Operation Details Date/Time:  Sun, 10/03/2013 - 16:00 - 20:15 Operation Type:  SAROP Cat 1 People Assisted:  4 Total Volunteer Hours:  29 A runabout experienced electrical failure while 6 nautical miles SW of Kapiti Island. They were still able to contact Maritime Radio via their VHF radio and a callout was activated. Coastguard Mana dispatched CRV Trust Porirua Rescue to assist, but by the time they got there another vessel had supplied them with another battery and got them started. TPR escorted both vessels back to Mana. View this email in your browser Help your club stage the ultimate Secondary School Champs! Kia ora <> Orienteering Wellington is hosting this year’s NZ Secondary Schools Championships, from Friday 19 to Sunday 21 July and we need your help to make it an awesome experience for all! Duties will be for a maximum of two hours, likely less, and volunteers run free (subject to the Controller’s approval) at Sprint and Long events. We need everyone’s help, and especially those who hold current first aid certificates or can act as medics. Volunteer roles at events Friday 19 July: Sprint, Kāpiti College/Marine Gardens 11:30 - 4:30pm Event centre setup, car-parking, registration, first aid, on-call medic, Starts, road-crossing marshals, on course marshaling (x2), computer, control collection and pack-up.     • Maranui Surf Life Saving Club
    • On Monday 5th October 2009 there was a meeting held between Maranui Surf Life Saving Club and Wellington City Council officers. This meeting was called by the council to discuss a new proposed outcome for the fire damaged Maranui building; as revealed by the Dominion Post on Friday the 2nd October. The concept they put to the Maranui members was to demolish the 4 council buildings on the Lyall Beach and replace them with a purpose built “Super Building” which would incorporate Lyall Bay surf club, Maranui surf club, NZAAT Beach House Art Gallery, toilet and shower facilities etc. Maranui Surf Club members were surprised and disappointed with yet another delay and are unsure how this new concept is relevant to the repair of the Maranui building.

• • 2022 Div II – What a blast!

    • The team set off for Dunedin to compete in the Div II competition on Saturday 7 May for five days of racing. The team consisted of 12 swimmers and 4 parents, with another 2 swimmers and 2 parents joining the team later in the week. We’d lost one team member due to testing positive for Covid a couple of days earlier, but this was the largest team the club has taken to Div II in recent memory. On arrival, we explored Larnach Castle and the iconic Baldwin street (the worlds steepest street). We spent hours at the castle and the kids were fascinated by how people lived back then. We escaped Baldwin street without any injuries, the main aim of coach Nadia!

    • Operation Details Date/Time:  Thu, 26/12/2019 - 15:15 - 16:15 Operation Type:  CG Operation (good samaritan) People Assisted:  2 Total Volunteer Hours:  4 Whilst travelling out to do another tow job we spotted a vessel adrift with apparent engine problems. We came alongside to check they were ok and they couldn't get their engine going. They thought they would be able to, so we carried on with the other job. On the way back we passed them and they asked for assistance which they agreed to. We returned after dropping off the other vessel and towed them home to Mana Marina.     • Operation Details Date/Time:  Thu, 25/04/2013 - 10:00 - 13:00 Operation Type:  SAROP Cat 1 People Assisted:  3 Total Volunteer Hours:  30 CRV Trust Porirua Rescue and Pelorus responded to a Police callout for a dismasted yacht 2 miles south of Mana Island.The yacht had gear failure and the mast, boom and mainsail were hanging over the port side.Porirua Rescue passed bolt cutters to the yacht so they could cut away the rigging. On cutting away the rigging an attempt was made to marker buoy the gear with a buoy from Pelorus, this was unsucessful. Once the gear was freed from the yacht she made her own way under power to Mana Marina attended by Porirua Rescue and Pelorus.     • 4 October – 15 December 2024 Vaiei Tupuna is an exhibition of contemporary tapa from across Moana Nui that brings together newly commissioned responses to taonga from the collections of Ngā Puhipuhi o Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington Art Collection and The Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, alongside historic and contemporary artworks that acknowledge the tupuna and atua who activate this practice. Gifted by Sarah Vaki, elder and master tapa maker from Fatu Hiva in the Marquesas, the title of the exhibition translates as “heritage of our ancestors”. Vaiei Tupuna takes up these shared genealogies and histories of tapa to celebrate the vitality of the artform in the present, and to extend and build knowledge for the future. Hina, the atua of tapa makers, is present throughout Vaiei Tupuna.

    • Stokes Valley Volunteer Fire Brigade
    • During the month of August, Stokes Valley Volunteer Fire Brigade responded to a total of 13 incidents.  We attended six fires, from the very small (a smoking light-fixture) to the extremely large "4th Alarm" factory fire in Petone on the 23rd August.  We also attended four medical emergencies during the month and there were three false alarms. Even with another fairly significant (magnitute 6.6) earthquake on 16th August, the Wellington region seemenly dodged another bullet and the brigade had absolutely no earthquake-related incidents to attend to.  Let's keep our fingers crossed that that remains the case for many, many years to come! We’re kicking things off this Wednesday with our afterwork sprints, part of our College Sport Wellington (CSW) Series, which will be followed by forest and farm orienteering in March. Although CSW events are aimed at getting school students orienteering, don’t be put off by the name—courses are open to everyone, and we’d love to see you there. A big thank you to our course planner, Ali Power, and our controller, Sarah O’Sullivan, for knocking our first sprint into shape at Whitireia Campus in Porirua. AGM highlights Congratulations to Morag McLellan, who took out the Endeavour Cup for development, and to Helen Hughes for receiving the Fortune Cup for outstanding service to the club! Beverley Holder was welcomed as the new President of Orienteering Wellington, taking over from Paul Teesdale-Spittle, who has dedicated many years to leading the club. Beverley has been deeply involved, most recently helping steer a successful Oceania organising committee. Draft minutes from the AGM 2024 will soon be available on the website Morag McLellan Helen Hughes Wellington makes waves at Oceania Oceania was a fantastic event, with over 700 orienteers from both sides of the Tasman and further enjoying beautiful courses at Massey University (sprint) and Santoft forest maps of Koitiata (middle), Knottingly (long), and Parewanui (relay). Orienteering Wellington members achieved some impressive results, especially Lizzie Ingham, who reigned supreme by taking first in Women’s 21E for the Sprint, Middle, and Long events. Jake McLellan also shone with a second place in M20E Sprint and Long courses, and both he and Rachel Baker were part of the New Zealand junior teams that won their Trans-Tasman relay competitions. Orienteering Wellington can be proud of hosting a brilliant event for all. A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers, particularly Helen Hughes, who wrangled the volunteers to ensure everything ran seamlessly each day. 2025 subscriptions now due Members attending the AGM resolved to raise subscriptions by 20% to cover Orienteering New Zealand levies—our first increase in quite some time!     • Operation Details Date/Time:  Thu, 21/01/2016 - 11:00 - Tue, 02/02/2016 - 13:00 Operation Type:  SAROP Cat 1 People Assisted:  4 Total Volunteer Hours:  1160 Smasher, a 27" Pelin motor launch split its hull coming off a wave as it was leaving Porirua harbour (vicinity of the outer reef). Smasher was in transit with another vessel which stood by her Mana Rescue1 was tasked to support by police The owner was able to put the vessel ashore on Mana Island (just north of shingle point) before MR1 arrived on scene. MR1 was able to confirm that the crew of smasher were safe, then start to render assistance to strip the vessel and secure her on shore and stern to sea.     • Operation Details Date/Time:  Tue, 04/06/2019 - 07:00 - 09:00 Operation Type:  CG Operation (good samaritan) People Assisted:  2 Total Volunteer Hours:  12 A yacht had come from Nelson overnight, hit a storm in Cook Strait and decided to run into Porirua Harbour at night. Tired crew and insufficient local knowledge meant that they did not follow the lights and ran aground several times on the way before sticking on the sandbank outside the Marina on a rising tide with the wind blowing them onto the breakwater. MR1 with 4 crew attended, putting 1 crew on the yacht to assist, towed them to deep water. From there she then motored safely into the breastworks outside Mana Cruising Club.     • Operation Details Date/Time:  Tue, 08/06/2021 - 18:30 - 22:30 Operation Type:  SAROP Cat 1 People Assisted:  3 Total Volunteer Hours:  40 Multiple reports of a vessel with 3 or 4 POB broken down (via victim to Police on 111) or overdue (family to CG Ops Centre and friends to CG Mana public phone). Location (estimate) varied between 6NM of coastline between Makara and Little Titahi Bay. Limited comms from victim via 1 cellphone that was down to 20% battery. Information very confused and unreliable. Started with coastline search and trying to identify potential lights. Received TXT indicating we had gone past them and they had drifted further out near Mana Island. Spotted a orange flickering light about 3NM in the distance.     • Operation Details Date/Time:  Sun, 07/11/2021 - 18:30 - 21:30 Operation Type:  CG Operation (good samaritan) People Assisted:  6 Total Volunteer Hours:  12 Whilst searching for a vessel that had broken down with 4 pob and requested a tow home as a non-member we discovered another one that had broken down on "the  bridge" near Mana Island. We marked their location and told them we would be back for them once we had located the first vessel.  We found the first vessel under tow by someone else coming back into the channel. • • Wellington and Porirua buses to use Saturday timetables in January

    • Most Metlink buses in Wellington city and Porirua will use their Saturday timetables on weekdays from 4 to 27 January. Routes 13, 28, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 12e, 30x and 31x will operate their normal weekday schedules during this period, while After Midnight services will also operate as normal on Saturday and Sunday mornings Services on routes 81 and 84 between Eastbourne and Wellington are suspended until 29 January. Routes 39 and 32x will also cease operation until 29 January, however, a shuttle will connect Island Bay and Houghton Bay at 10-minute intervals during the morning and evening peaks on weekdays. Metlink has reduced bus timetables in this way to give customers certainty. Because of the national bus driver shortage, and at a time when many of us, including drivers are taking leave, the reduced schedules will help operators meet demand and minimise unplanned cancellations.

Please let him know if you want to help.  Matairangi Fun Run, 23 February Hataitai Velodrome,  Open to the public, the Matairangi Fun Run, based on Mount Victoria, runs over the iconic Vosseler Shield course. There are two race options: the One Loop Race (5 km); or the Two Loop Race (two 5 km loops, adding up to 10 km). Each loop has approximately 190 metres of elevation. McVilly Shield Relay, 7 March, Karori Park The McVilly Shield is the first club event for the season and a great way to get to know other people in the club. This relay has teams of three people each. Everyone can participate, runners, walkers, J Team, seniors, masters and friends of the club. Just turn up and we will find you a team. You can either race it or use it as an opportunity to do some training.  Each team must do ten laps of Karori Park. No individual team member can do more than four laps. But you can do the laps in any order you like. The race is randomly handicapped after the teams start. • • 2020 Port Nicholson Regatta – You Were Here!

    • What a sensational Port Nicholson Regatta! With over 170 Sailors and 30 boats on the water, including over half a dozen visiting boats with 4 Sports Boats from Auckland, RPNYC delivered an event members can be proud of! The Port Nicholson Regatta opened with the Lawson’s Dry Hills Charity Cup Race on Thursday, followed by a convivial Regatta Dinner and presentations to Britannia Sea Scouts, Wellington Free Ambulance, and Live Ocean. It provided opportunity to acknowledge the fantastic support from our sponsors who help make things better and easier: Yamaha, Crombie Lockwood, Lawson’s Dry Hills, Mt Gay, Steinlager, North Sails, Burnsco, Pivotal Print, Barton Marine, Havana, Mevo, Chaffers Marina, and Whittaker’s. The event delivered three days of intensive and rewarding regatta racing in perfect weather. Impeccable race management led by John and Linda Parrish, was ably supported by our support crews and assistants. Notably Marg McVeagh, Janine Small, Julie Bate, Carole Inkster, Phil Taylor, Mel Zytecka and Ashley Owers who were out on the water for the duration of the event. Not forgetting Kim McMorran of course, for our brand new marks. After the relentless start sequence to get 44 races away in 4 divisions over three days (plus the 8 starts in the Lawson’s Dry Hills Charity Cup Race), there was silverware to award.     Northern Premier 1 Teams End the Year On a High

    • <figure class=" sqs-block-image-figure intrinsic " > A cold, wet NUHC Prem 1 Women’s team after their 5-6 playoff with Karori In an interesting twist, the Northern Premier 1 Men and Women’s teams have both ended their 2019 seasons ranked fifth equal. The Northern P1 Women, in their first year in the competition after possibly a 30 year hiatus, had an exceptional year under the guidance of coach David McNaughtan. With several wins under their belt in their first season, the women made their way into the 5-6th playoffs. In a match which was marred by torrential rain throughout, the Northern women fought to the end against Karori. The turf was underwater for most of the game, but with less than 10 minutes remaining, and with the scores tied 4-4, the rain became too heavy and the umpires called the game off. This left a very cold, wet, but relieved team fifth equal with Karori. The men’s competition was similarly affected by the weather, however it was the Saturday earlier that affected the men. Their penultimate match against Victoria University was unable to start due to heavy rain and hail that put the turf under several inches of water. The game was rescheduled for a midweek late night game. The disruption put pressure on both teams, with the match being the most stressful of the year for coach Jono Mackey and his team. A tit-for-tat scoreline kept the pressure on Northern, but the Northern strikers and excellent keeping by Cameron Loader kept them in the game. The Northern boys ended up triumphing 3-2 over the students, keeping them out of the relegation zone and putting them through to the 5-6 playoff. A death in the Wellington Indians hockey community unfortunately meant that the the 5-6 playoff against Wellington Indians Sports Club was unable to be played. Despite the unfortunate reason for cancellation, the Northern boys were relieved to end the year fifth equal. <figure class=" sqs-block-image-figure intrinsic " > NUHC Premier 1 Men after their final match of the season against Victoria University.

Hopefully this remains the only case of measles in the region but we encourage all parents, caregivers and whānau to remain vigilant to the symptoms and to contact their GP in case of concern. Wallace Street roadworks:  update from Wellington Water You will have noticed a lot of work going on in the area, and may well have read the news item in the Dominion Post earlier this week about the reservoir pipeline project. We are in touch with the contractors undertaking the work for Wellington Water and they have told us that the planned diversion of traffic off the stretch of Wallace Street from John Street to Hargreaves Street (opposite the main entrance to Massey University) will not take place until December. From December all traffic, including buses, will be diverted along Wright Street while new water mains are laid along Wallace Street.  A new pedestrian crossing will be installed on Wright Street and a new bus stop created there.  There will be no impact on the bus stops that our students use. Safe pedestrian access will be maintained along Wallace Street while it is closed to traffic, and traffic management staff will be on site during working hours. In the meantime, roadworks are underway on Wallace Street from 9.00am-4.00pm on weekdays. We recommend allowing extra time for travel as there can be delays during this period. Applications can be submitted by individuals to assist with the cost of tertiary education, vocational training of the development of life-skills. About 12 grants are available to students of any age who come from the Greater Wellington area and who can demonstrate financial need. The amount awarded varies but is typically in the range of $3000 to $5000. Education Minister Chris Hipkins launches School Leavers’ Toolkit at WHS On Wednesday 25 September, the Education Minister Chris Hipkins chose Wellington High School as the venue for the launch of a great new resource for students and teachers: the School Leavers’ Toolkit. After a pōwhiri in Taraika, the Minister spoke to Yr12/13 students at a special assembly, presented certificates to students who participated in the toolkit’s development and then convened a Q&A session with some of the students involved. Around 30 WHS students contributed their ideas, views and opinions about the School Leavers’ Toolkit website during 3 sessions in 2019. Their comments were always honest and direct and gave the developers insight and welcome guidance, helping them shape the website to make it more accessible and meaningful for students, their families and teachers. Packed lunchtime seminar on Prison Reform Week 10 saw the Year 13 Sociology students presenting a range of events focussed on the need for prison reform in New Zealand. On Monday a panel of MPs discussed their party views on voting rights for prisoners in New Zealand. This discussion was facilitated by student who worked with Just Speak to raise awareness of the issue. On Tuesday the role of art therapy and rehabilitation within prisons was discussed, from a Quaker perspective. On Thursday 5 students spoke to their submission at the select committee for electoral reform at Parliament. Great thoughtful design conversation and delicious yellow themed food (The World of Wearable arts theme colour for 2019) was enjoyed by all. WOW is on at the TSB arena until 13 October. Among the crew are WHS students Tyler Gold and Ant Vache, so watch out for them if you go to the show.     Garden update As you can see from these photos, under the care of our Horticulture students, the garden is flourishing in the spring.              Achievements CREST success Gryffon Hester and Neo Silcock gained Highly Commended (joint second place) and a Silver Crest award in the NZIFST and Royal Societies Food Innovation Challenge. They worked for three terms with Tahi Spiralina as their client and mentors Ben Suitherland and Sally Ronaldson from Food Safety Australia NZ to develop a spiralina pasta suitable for vegans and to showcase  the versatility of spiralina. The judging event required that they present their product, their report, academic poster and be interviewed by two sets of industry based food technologists. We are really proud of their efforts. Ka rawe!     NZ Chinese essay competition winner Congratulations to year 13 Theo van Toor who has won the first place in the secondary senior category of the 13th New Zealand Chinese Essay competition. Coordinated by the Confucius Institute in Auckland, the competition is one of a number of events annually that help link New Zealand and China through education and culture.   Sports Skateboarding  Congratulations to Gala Baumfield and Hunter Lander Smith. Both competed at the College Sport Wellington Skateboarding Championships on Wednesday 11 September. Gala gained 1st place in the Senior Girls and Hunter got 1st in the Senior Boys and won Best Trick. Well done to you both.        Sports Prizegiving  Our annual WHS Sports Prizegiving is on Tuesday 22 October at 11am in the Riley Centre.  All students who have played sport for the school are expected to be present. Women in Trades seminar  This was a great opportunity for anyone interested to come and chat, meet, ask questions from a fantastic group of young women who have chosen careers in the trades. Our visitors were very keen to share their stories:  A first year building apprentice just out of school for 10 months after finishing school at the end of Year 12 An apprentice studying for her Level 4 Certificate to become a fully qualified Electrician. With her boss away, she is in charge of the team organising jobs and managing staff A Plumbing and Gasfitting and Drainlaying apprentice of three years who has just bought her first home with her partner. She is hoping to set up her own “all girl” business in the future. A Navy service woman of 13 years in the Hospitality trade as a Steward currently working as an Armed Forces recruiter. We hope to repeat this seminar opportunity next year.

    • Kilbirnie School is holding a Fabulous Fun Run on Thursday 26th May at 1pm to encourage kids to be healthy and have fun! This event is co-ordinated with the cross country season so the kids are currently practising their running and keeping fit! Dress up is a HUGE part of this event! There will be awards for best costumes, so if you want to take part as your favourite superhero or book character, get creative and WOW the crowds! There will be ice blocks at the end after the event for the kids to re-hydrate and we encourage any families to come down and support the kids and join in the fun (please wear masks). or pick up a form at the school office. Well, if our original invitation wasn’t enough, now you have a new reason: The Government has just announced that the resource consent hearing will be before an EPA Board of Inquiry hearing rather than before the Environment Court, as Wellington City Council had recommended. You can read the Minister’s announcement, and find out the names of those she has appointed to the Board of Inquiry, on Wellington Scoop. We’d rather the Minister had taken a few more months – or years – to make her decision, but now we know exactly what we’re up against. We were already going to tell you about NZTA’s flawed and sloppy flyover proposal, and what it means for you. Now we can also tell you with more confidence what the submission process will be, and how you can tell the Board, the Government, opposition political parties and the world at large that we do not want this ugly, outdated and unnecessary concrete monstrosity within a bull’s roar of the historic Basin Reserve.

You can add the appropriate calendar to your own via the Google button at the bottom left.         Measles Outbreak — Advice to schools As you are likely aware, there is a large and ongoing outbreak of measles in Christchurch, with 26 cases as at 14 March. Auckland and Dunedin now also have measles cases. While there are currently no reported cases in the greater Wellington region, people will move around NZ during the school holiday period of 13 – 28 April, which includes Easter (19 April –22 April), and ANZAC Day (25 April), and it is likely measles will spread. Focus on Climate Change At the time of writing, a large number of our students are in town for the Climate Change Strike, part of a global movement of youth protest.  In the build up to this, Wellington High’s Molly Doyle in Year 13, took part in a panel with Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, the Green Party’s James Shaw, and student leaders from other schools. You can read more about the event here.             World Vision Youth Conference Stop Press: While many of our students have been out at the Strike4Climate this morning, four students have been representing WHS at the World Vision Youth Conference. Abishkar Palma, Emily Brooke, Liberty McIntyre-Reet, and Jack Davies have been learning and sharing their ideas and vision of how they can be change makers in our community.           Talking Books with Jacinda Ardern Johanna Christ, Alex Buyck, Otis Brown and Em Flux attended a fundraiser for the Katherine Mansfield House and Garden on the evening of Wednesday 13 March to hear Jacinda Ardern talk about her love of books. The Prime Minister shared advice for teenagers, “Know yourself. Know when you are feeling fragile and get off social media. Don’t live life on a screen.” She also talked about the importance of reading saying, “In order to give children the gift of reading, we need to give parents and caregivers the gift of time.” The students came away feeling very lucky to have had the opportunity to attend the event.       Farewell to Chrissy Laing We reluctantly said goodbye to Chrissy Laing on Thursday 14 March after four and a half years of outstanding service as our Gateway coordinator. Chrissy brought enormous positive energy to this important role and she will be greatly missed. Chrissy is embarking on a new journey much closer to home and we wish her well in her new role.       French Club trip to view a French Film Festival  On Thursday members of the French film club, joined with other French students in Wellington to view the view Au Bout des Doigts.       Tongariro Crossing On Monday the GEO223 and ESS223 classes left for the long bus ride up to Tongariro. We journeyed up to the mountains and on Tuesday did the long 19.4km Tongariro Crossing. The 22 students and 3 staff made it over in just under 8 hours, some more adventurous students choosing to run the final 3km downhill. Everyone did a great job an had a great time, and the warm hot pools straight afterward were welcomed by us all. The weather was fantastic – a number of us were sporting pink noses by the afternoon. Thank you to Kerry Parker and Kyle West who accompanied and made it possible to do the Crossing for the first time in many years. Drama Camp Last week Year 13 Drama went on camp to Riversdale in the Wairarapa. The purpose of the camp was to have an extended rehearsal period for two upcoming performance assessments. While they were away students worked on their acting technique for an assessment which finished yesterday, and started drafting self-devised character-based solos for presentation in week 11 (9-11 April).       JustSpeak lunchtime lecture The lunchtime lecture on Friday 8 March was delivered by Tania Sawiki Mead.  Tania is the Director of JustSpeak: a movement of young people who are speaking up and speaking out about criminal justice, aspiring for a thriving Aotearoa. JustSpeak develops  youth-led tools, resources, spaces and support to facilitate public conversation on criminal justice informed by evidence and experience. Thank you to the Library for hosting another fascinating talk, and to Kathryn Hutchinson  for organizing the lecture and visit.       Achievements Talented footballer and former WHS student featured in Sunday Star Times The Sunday Star Times on 10 March featured the story of former WHS student, Athman Othman. Athman is remembered by many of his teachers for his sporting talent and we were glad to read of his success on the field playing for Tasman United. Read the full article here. NZYPT – New Zealand Young Physicists’ Tournament take silver On the 9th March, two teams of WHS physicists competed in the Wellington regional heat of the 14th New Zealand Young Physicists’ Tournament (NZYPT). Held at Victoria University, the teams took part in science fights defending their research into seven pre-determined problems, and challenging that of their opponents. The team of Millie Rea, Sophie Mance and Khalid Adam are to be congratulated for finishing second. They will head to Auckland next weekend to take part in the national finals.       Sport Futsal We have had another busy week sport wise.  On Wednesday 13 March we had a Junior Boys and Senior Boys team compete in the College Sport Wellington Futsal Competition held at the ASB Sport Centre in Kilbirnie.  The teams had a great day with some very close results. Big thanks goes to Mr Junca for coaching the boys. Junior vs St Patrick Town, 6-3 lost vs Hutt International, 4-2 lost (draw until last 3 minutes!) vs Hutt Valley High, 8-3 win vs Scots College, 4 all draw (excellent game!!!) vs Tawa College, 6-1 win Senior: vs Wellington College, 7 nil lost vs Aotea College, 2 all draw vs Hutt International, 7-3 lost vs St Patrick Town, 3-2 win vs Onslow College, 3 nil lost Regional Athletics On Thursday 14 March a team of six from Wellington High School competed in the College Sport Wellington Regional Athletics meet at Newtown Park. Competing were: Fynn Hutson Senior Boys High Jump Thomas Woodward Senior Boys 100m and 200m Liberty McIntyre-Reet Senior Girls 800m Tiopira Mulholland Intermediate Boys High Jump Ari Koed-Chang Intermediate Boys Long Jump Frankie Coup Junior Girls Javelin All athletes participated extremely well.  Thomas reached the final of Senior Boys 100m and Frankie  won the Junior Girls Javelin with a throw of 24.97m (which beats our school record). Netball Reminder: Junior and Senior Netball Trials take place on Saturday 16 March (tomorrow) and Saturday 23 March here at school in the Tindall Gym. Juniors 9.00-11.30am Seniors 1.00-3.30pm Players must bring the correct shoes and a drink bottle.  If you cannot make both trial dates please let Ms McIntyre (Sports Office) know. Football Trials for all Junior Boys wishing to compete in the Junior Boys Football team take place on Tuesday 19 March from 3.30-5.00pm. Players must bring their football boots and correct clothing for the trials.  Also on Tuesday 19th March, trials for Senior students (Year 11-13) wanting to compete in the 2nd and 3rd XI Football teams, should meet at Wakefield Park, Adelaide Road, Berhampore, from 3.45-5.00pm.
