We marked their location and told them we would be back for them once we had located the first vessel.  We found the first vessel under tow by someone else coming back into the channel.         • Operation Details Date/Time:  Sun, 31/10/2021 - 15:00 - Wed, 03/11/2021 - 17:30 Operation Type:  SAROP Cat 1 People Assisted:  1 Total Volunteer Hours:  670 Police activated CG Mana for a swimmer reported missing in Titahi Bay. MR1 with 5 x crew responded Sea conditions were very rough and confused, wind gusting 45 knots, breaking seas of 2.5-3.5 metres in the navigation channel and the route to Titahi Bay. A call was made to CG Mana base to not send MR2 on the tasks as the seas were to dangerous for the smaller CRV. MR1 carried out a barrier patrol and creeping line search of the S.A.D area. Nothing was located Search was called off by Police.         • Operation Details Date/Time:  Fri, 22/10/2021 - 21:00 - Sat, 23/10/2021 - 01:00 Operation Type:  SAROP Cat 1 People Assisted:  8 Total Volunteer Hours:  24 Big Ben a 6 metre vessel broke down at Pipinui point after a fishing & diving excursion. Engine would not start. "Sea Patrol" vessel assisted on scene and supplied fuel but engine still would not fire (unknown problem) Big Ben was at anchor and Sea Patrol stood off in support with their tender in the water. MR1 was sent to the scene and started the recovery actions. Big Bens crew was split with 4 on MR1 and 4 remaining on board. Location (estimate) varied between 6NM of coastline between Makara and Little Titahi Bay. Limited comms from victim via 1 cellphone that was down to 20% battery. Information very confused and unreliable. Started with coastline search and trying to identify potential lights. Received TXT indicating we had gone past them and they had drifted further out near Mana Island. Spotted a orange flickering light about 3NM in the distance.
