- The Wellingtonista
- Now that we have a definitive list of mayoral candidates, we thought it was time we send them some of the questions we'd crowdsourced over Twitter ages ago.

The Princess and the Sausage
- The Wellingtonista
- Most "pop-up shops" emerge in vacant retail spaces, but The Princess' Bedroom was different: the shop itself popped up, in the form of a brightly-painted caravan in a gravelly old Ghuznee St carpark.

Sail carts, land yachts and recumbent trikes

Patrol
- Hutt Chick
- wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I arrived at the police station. The others were waiting. I got into the waiting patrol car, and buckled up. I was going out on community patrol in Naenae. Community patrols work alongside police to build safer communities, providing an extra set of eyes and ears. We drove a random route but to some set areas, through schools, up alleyways behind businesses, making sure the streets were safe and providing a visual deterrent for tagging and other crime.

The Syntax of Public Transport
- Eye of the Fish
- Following on from previous discussions on all things transport and urban, I’ve had a play round and tried to depict some of the issues that are striking the city planners and traffic engineers – as well as causing wrangles between Mayor Kerry and Sir Bob Jones.

Wellington is a cycling city
- Wellington Region Cycleways
- An early drizzly weekday morning in Wellington and there are still hundreds of people riding on the waterfront: There is some suggestion to make the cyclists go along Jervois Quay instead of the waterfront.

New Zealand's Next Top City
- The Wellingtonista
- Writing recaps of New Zealand's Next Top Model is something that I'd normally do over at Pretty Pretty Pretty, but since the first episode of Season Two was filmed in Wellington (nice work, Positively Tourism!), I thought I might put up some thoughts on all the places that they shot.

Mayor Kerry speaks
- Eye of the Fish
- In response to a recent posting here on Eye of the Fish, and possibly in response to my slightly provocative comment that …. “It is increasingly difficult to write about design in a city which pays only lip service to it,” I’m pleasantly surprised that Mayor Kerry Prendergast has taken the time to add a comment to the posting. I'd like to lodge a compliment, please
- The Wellingtonista
- I spent two weeks living on the 28th floor of a hotel in Tokyo when I was ten, and ever since then, I have been obsessed with hotels. As you probably know, here at the Wellingtonista, we're also very fond of free food and drink, so when the Travelodge invited us to for Cocktails & Canapes, of course we responded enthusiastically.
