Coastguard Mana / March 2022
Coastguard Mana is an affiliated member of Coastguard New Zealand and is a Unit of Coastguard Central Region. We are based at the Mana Cruising Club / Mana Marina on the west coast of the North Island, just up the road from Wellington. Our area of responsibility covers the Mana inshore recreational area and the northern end of Cook Strait across to the top of the Marlborough Sounds.

- Operation Details Date/Time: Sat, 05/03/2022 - 10:45 - 14:15 Operation Type: CG Operation (good samaritan) People Assisted: 1 Total Volunteer Hours: 21 A jetski would not start because of a flat battery after fishing near Boom Rock. He was drifting towards shore and a vessel nearby was able to assist to keep him off the rocks (he didn't have an anchor) while we travelled to his location. We then towed him home to Mana. Had been diving and then the engine died as they departed. MR1 towed them back to Mana Cruising Club launching ramp.
