Coastguard Mana / June 2015

Coastguard Mana is an affiliated member of Coastguard New Zealand and is a Unit of Coastguard Central Region. We are based at the Mana Cruising Club / Mana Marina on the west coast of the North Island, just up the road from Wellington. Our area of responsibility covers the Mana inshore recreational area and the northern end of Cook Strait across to the top of the Marlborough Sounds.

      • Operation Details Date/Time:  Mon, 01/06/2015 - 17:55 - 18:00 Operation Type:  SAROP Cat 1 People Assisted:  1 Total Volunteer Hours:  0 Coastguard Mana was tasked to support police in getting a person from the water in the Pauahatanui end of Porirua Harbour. Mana Rescue 2 (5.8 m RHIB) with 3 crew and 2 police officers were tasked.  Support was available from Westpac rescue Helicopter and police on shore to locate the person.
