Coastguard Mana / January 2022

Coastguard Mana is an affiliated member of Coastguard New Zealand and is a Unit of Coastguard Central Region. We are based at the Mana Cruising Club / Mana Marina on the west coast of the North Island, just up the road from Wellington. Our area of responsibility covers the Mana inshore recreational area and the northern end of Cook Strait across to the top of the Marlborough Sounds.

Pulled the anchor without starting the engine and ran the crank battery down.MR1 responded in support, Chiaeti was able to link emergency parallel on the batteries and started up. Mana crew called to base, contact made with the casualty who confirmed that they had started their engine and were safe to travel home.
