Coastguard Mana / December 2015

Coastguard Mana is an affiliated member of Coastguard New Zealand and is a Unit of Coastguard Central Region. We are based at the Mana Cruising Club / Mana Marina on the west coast of the North Island, just up the road from Wellington. Our area of responsibility covers the Mana inshore recreational area and the northern end of Cook Strait across to the top of the Marlborough Sounds.

    • Overturned racing dinghy, Onepoto
      • Operation Details Date/Time:  Sun, 06/12/2015 - 13:00 - 14:55 Operation Type:  SAROP Cat 1 People Assisted:  2 Total Volunteer Hours:  5 A 4 metre racing dinghy with 4 POB overturned in the Onepoto arm of Porirua harbour, 2 of the crew made it to shore whilst 2 stayed on board.  Police responded Westpac helicopter, Wellington Free Ambulance and Coastguard Mana to assist.
