Coastguard Mana / February 2018

Coastguard Mana is an affiliated member of Coastguard New Zealand and is a Unit of Coastguard Central Region. We are based at the Mana Cruising Club / Mana Marina on the west coast of the North Island, just up the road from Wellington. Our area of responsibility covers the Mana inshore recreational area and the northern end of Cook Strait across to the top of the Marlborough Sounds.

    • Broken down runabout at Hunters Bank
      • Operation Details Date/Time:  Sat, 10/02/2018 - 09:30 - 15:00 Operation Type:  CG Operation (good samaritan) People Assisted:  3 Total Volunteer Hours:  22 A small runabout with 3 POB had headed out to Hunters Bank for a dive/snorkel. The motor stopped and wouldn't restart before they got in the water.  They contacted the national Coastguard Operations Centre who forwarded the details onto us. Mana Rescue 1 headed out and located them drifting near the original location and towed them back to Mana Marina.
