Wow Indeed
- Eye of the Fish
- Athfield Architects have scooped the waterfront prize-pool, with a clean sweep win of all the sites covered in the Kumutoto North competition. Well done indeed to Ath and his merry band of cliffside dwellers. Wellington Waterfront also deservers kudos for having running a competition in the first place, and for sneaking out the press release a mere 5 months after the competition was held.

No water privatisation in wellington -yeah right!
- Bryan Pepperell - Back To The Future
- On Thursday, 17 June 2010, the Wellington City Council Strategy and Policy Committee met to finalise Council's submission on the Local Government Act 2002 Amendment Bill. Radio New Zealand's response this morning was misleading to say the least in that it stated that Wellington City Council had backed down on water privatisation through public pressure. It was one of the more misleading news items that I have ever heard. Council was not changing its policy but was making a weasel worded submission on the Local Government Act 2002 Amendment Bill.

DCM Bulletin - Thanks, Wellington
- Downtown Community Ministry
- Wellington really is a generous community. The Downtown Community Ministry (DCM) foodbank has gone from having bare cupboards to stocked shelves thanks to a wide range of donations. In April, we asked for donations for our foodbank. We were down to the last few cans of food, and were even out of basics like toilet paper. The past three years have shown a consistent increase in food parcels provided by DCM. In 2009, we provided 2366 parcels. This increased to 2978 in 2010, and if the current numbers continue for 2011, we estimate providing 3460 parcels.

DCM Bulletin - Demand for Food and Services
- Downtown Community Ministry
- With demand for foodbank services increasing, Downtown Community Ministry (DCM) supports those in need to address the underlying issues behind their need for assistance. In the first 6 months of this year compared with the same period in 2010, demand for food parcels has increased by 27%. The number of actual parcels being given out increased from 1337 to 1703. “Sometimes people come to the foodbank once, just to help them through a tricky week or two. But, the trend is that people need more assistance for longer, which shows how tough things are out there,” says David Manuel, Community Worker at DCM.

Nada Bakery
- Nada Bakery has always been a family business with Peter's wife Judith heavily involved and their three children including son Michael began baking at a young age. So when Peter sadly passed away in 2005 it made perfect sense for Judith and Michael to take over the business. In 2010, they expanded to Tawa opening a new bakery and cafe where customers could dine in on the amazing baked goods and great coffee and, in 2017, opened The Bakery Basket an online branch with delivery across New Zealand.
