Greater Wellington calls for community views on public transport fares
- Greater Wellington Regional Council
- Public consultation on the Future Fares Review is open and Greater Wellington wants the community’s views on changes to our region’s public transport fares. Greater Wellington’s Transport Committee Chair Roger Blakeley says, “one of our strategic priorities outlined in the Regional Public Transport Plan 2021 is to increase mode shift. Saving the orchids
- Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush Trust
- Nationally significant research to save rare native orchids is being undertaken in a tiny science lab at Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush in Wellington. Finding Ōtari conservation and science advisor Dr Karin van der Walt and research technician Jennifer Alderton-Moss is a bit of a mission. The pair work from a small cottage behind Ōtari’s plant nursery, hidden from visitors who wander the trails exploring New Zealand’s single largest collection of native plants.

White Out
- Land Rovers Football Club
- With the final Grand Final line up yet to be named, the availability of star defender come goal scorer Ben White is in doubt. "Apparently Ben is going up north for a while" said Land Rovers Manager Steve Hall "he's decided that Whangarei might be a good spot to spend a few days". Hall said obviously White would be missed but negotiations were still underway to ensure that White starts in the final line up.

A City for People
- Decades of inaction have meant house prices are out of control, while old rental properties rot out from underneath us. A whole generation of people are at risk of being forced out from the central city into new suburbs sprawling north, spending hours every day in traffic jams. We believe the Spatial Plan will allow Wellington to plan for the future so that new generations of Wellingtonians can share the city we love, and have a chance to live in a home that is affordable, accessible, healthy and warm.

- New Zealand’s capital city now has a fantastic new gay bar - ‘Our Bar’, is opening in October. With a warm and inviting atmosphere it is unparalleled in the community. Our Bar is not an average pub; it is a bar with great food, great people, great staff and an even greater heart.
