    • Weekly News: The Wash House Spring Series
      • The weather ended up perfect and 18 boats had a great afternoon on the water with a Mark Foy race that saw some tight finishes (only 8 seconds separated the first two PTs on line). Congratulations to Catalina for winning the PT fleet, Bender for taking out the TY race and Tamerlane for winning race one of the Commodores Cup. Thanks to The Grinch, Black Mamba and Jesse James for completing their duty afternoon along with our ever present volunteers Pugwash and James Dinsdale!     • Weekly News: Mark Foy Racing
      • Wow that was a fantastic evening on Friday with The Gentlemen Friday entertaining us all while having a delicious meal provided by Bongusto in Miramar. A HUGE thanks to David Nalder, Rowan Hatch, Mel Redshaw-Nalder and Bhagee Ramanathan for making it happen! This week we have a Mark Foy Race on Saturday, see full details here.

    • Weekly News: Dinner & a Band
      • And we are straight back into it after the long weekend with Bongusto providing dinner on Friday while The Gentlemen Friday will entertain you all night long with some fantastic tunes Please don't forget to book your meal by 4pm today, details are here.

    • Weekly News: Labour Weekend
      • Another great day both on and in the water for some of our members on Saturday. Following a successful afternoon of racing, half a dozen members took the opportunity to test their inflatable lifejackets in a practical situation by jumping off the wharf (supervised by GWRC) and climbing into a liferaft. While there are no club activities this weekend, there is still plenty coming up. So keep reading here to find out all about it.

      • Another amazing opening day as been and gone, see the full details of how great it was in our wrap up. Also find out all the other activities and entertainment we have coming up! Please remember EBYMBC is a General Election Polling Station this Saturday. So, if you haven't voted yet, why not do it at the club on Saturday before (or after) sailing? Note, this is as far as I'm ever going to delve into political discussion.

    • Weekly News: Opening Day is here
      • Opening Day for 2020 is here already! All the fun and festivities kick off from 1100hrs on Saturday with the Opening Day Race starting at 1400hrs. So get ya good gears on and we will see you all on Saturday morning. While the focus is on Opening Day this week there is plenty of other stuff to know about as well, so keep reading and you will be fully informed!

      • First of thanks to everyone who came down on Saturday for the annual working bee, it was great to see the list completed and the Club looking spic and span for the upcoming season. There is plenty coming up during October, so check out the details here and block out your diary.

    • Awards Success
      • Congratulations to EBYMBC members Phil Williams and Andre Van Dam who have picked up awards at the annual Volvo Yachting Excellence Awards hosted by Yachting New Zealand. It is fantastic to see their achievements recognised on the national stage.See the full details here.

      • There is plenty of exciting information in this week's email, with Level 1 now being confirmed we can start to publicize some of the events and activities we have been working on recently. Check out all the information here.

    • Weekly News: Thank You
      • I want to start this week by saying a huge thank you to all our volunteers and members who were at the club over the weekend. There was a huge amount going on with Learn to Sail, Black Shed Allocation Day, and an AON 420 Clinic. It was awesome to see the club buzzing and a huge amount of work going into the place. There is still more going on again this weekend including Opening Days for both Muritai Yacht Club and RPNYC, so find out all about it here.

    • 2020-21 EBYMBC Sailing Season Announcement
      • The Vice Commodore and Sailing Committee are excited to publish the sailing programme for the 2020-21 Sailing Season at Evans Bay Yacht & Motor Boat Club. A lot of time and effort has gone into preparing the race documents and a sailing programme that we believe will cater for the wide range of boats and sailors that we have here at EBYMBC. A bunch of information you might (or might not) want to know about the upcoming season is available here.

    • Weekly News: Spring Breeze
      • Well the "gentle spring breezes" have certainly arrived with the beginning of September. Hopefully there might be a window of opportunity to get out on the water for a play at some stage this weekend. While we don't have any organised club sailing this weekend there is still plenty going on. Check it out (and everything else that is coming up) in detail here.

    • Weekly News: North vs South
      • Fingers crossed this might possibly be our last weekend at Level 2 for a while and we'll be able to host the Barton Marine Winter Series prize giving on 12 September. However, before then there is still activity on around the club this weekend, so check out what is happening here and get involved.

    • Learn to Sail: Help Needed
      • We've had huge interest in our Adult Learn to Sail courses this spring and will therefore be running two course during September and October. However, we need some help! We are looking for experienced dinghy (or PT) sailors to help out our new students (and potential new members!) with rigging the the boats and being out on the water for the first few sessions. The courses are scheduled to start on Sat 5th & Sun 6th of September from 0900-1200hrs. If you can help out for any of these sessions, please get in tough with Davin Murdoch (Sailing Academy Officer) via evansbayacademy@gmail.com.

    • Weekly News: Still at Level 2
      • Well, we are still at level 2 for another couple of weeks so we have had to postpone the Barton Marine Winter Series prize giving until 12 September. But there is still plenty of organised activity around the club this weekend, so check out what is happening here.

    • Weekly News: Another Winter Finished
      • And that is another winter finished, well another Barton Marine Winter Series at least. Hopefully the weather will take note that we have finished winter and start move towards warm pleasant summer sailing conditions (note I didn't say spring conditions please).Here is a quick wrap up of Saturday's sailing, some information about when we are hoping to run the Barton Marine Winter Series prize giving, and some further information on what is available at the club under alert level two.

    • Weekly News: Alert Level 2 again
      • Well, when I was drafting this email yesterday, I certainly wasn't expecting it to look anything like this. We have moved into Alert Level 2 as of midday today, which means a few things around the Club need to change again. Found out everything you need to know here. As always with a Covid-19 situation all of the below information is subject to change.

      • I can sense the excitement in the air, and there is only 24 hours left to wait for the 101st edition of the EBYMBC Annual General Meeting. So if you haven't blocked it out in your diary already, you better get yourself sorted and we will see you at the Club in time for the meeting to kick off at 1900hrs sharp tomorrow (Thursday 6 August) evening.Check out everything else that has been, and will be, happening here.

    • Barton Marine Winter Series: Race Day 5
      • Race Day 5 is here and the forecast is looking beautiful again! Let's hope it holds true and we get another fantastic day of the Barton Marine Winter Series racing on the Bay.A reminder that we are back to our normal warning signal times this week with:1155hrs for the Cruising/Keelboat Division; and 1225hrs for the Dinghies and Trailer Yachts.Find out everything you need to know here.

    • Weekly News: August, here we come...
      • Well there is one more day left in July and then we kick swiftly into August on Saturday with race day 5 of the Barton Marine Winter Series. Then next Thursday we have the 101st AGM, so it is another busy little period for the mighty EBYMBC.Check out everything going on here.

      • Another week has rolled passed and a busy one it was as well. Saturday was a big day for the Club with us sending off Telfy and also having nearly 50 boats on the water in the afternoon for the Barton Marine Winter Series.Check out everything that's coming up here.

    • Weekly News: Telfy
      • It is with great sadness we start this week's email with the news that Telfy (Barry Telford) passed away on Monday.Telfy was a long standing member of EBYMBC and RPNYC and spent a huge amount of time out on the water enjoying Wellington Harbour, the Marlborough Sounds and any other spot he could find.A service to celebrate Telfy's life will be held at St Peter's Anglican Church, 211 Willis Street, Wellington, on Saturday 18th July at 1100hrs followed by a few drinks here at the Club.To honour Telfy on Saturday during the racing we will have black ribbons available for members to attach to the leach of their sails as a make of respect.Find out everything that is happening at the Club this week here.

      • It's been a busy week at EBYMBC, with the Barton Marine Winter Series getting another successful day of racing in and the clubhouse being used for all sorts of meetings, it really is starting to feel like club life is returning back to normal.
