Indoor community sports centre may force flyover
- While I certainly don't want to give up on fighting to stop the flyover being built at the Basin Reserve, a friend recently pointed out that there is another issue that I had not yet considered. And, it is one that could quite likely lead to construction of both the flyover and duplication of the Mt Victoria Tunnel.

Carless City For Wellington
- Bryan Pepperell - Back To The Future
- With the recent dialog on the issues of retailers and town planners would now be a good time to consider engaging the New Zealand Property Council in our debate. Or better still is there an option for them to call a meeting now that we know Sir Robert Jones is in favour of "pedestrianization from the Railway Station right to the Embassy Theater"?

Interesting discussion over at Eye Of The Fish
- Save the Basin Reserve!
- Wellington architecture blog Eye Of The Fish has an interesting discussion on the Memorial Parkway, the strip of land in front of the War Memorial in Buckle Street that was intended by the last government as an extension of the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior. Given the proximity of this area to the Basin Reserve, there's been some conjecture that the two projects would end up being linked by the transport planners. It's worth taking a look at both the original article and the comments that follow.

Meet Ken from Sydney
- Save the Basin Reserve!
- We were handing out flyers at the Basin Reserve today and talking to some of the people attending the New Zealand vs India test match - and we met a great bloke named Ken Willcox from the Epping Bulls Cricket Club in Sydney.

Submission document for the Regional Land Transport Management Programme
- Save the Basin Reserve!
- Worryingly, the Council has placed the Basin Reserve flyover as number two on its list of priorities, which raises the very real danger that they will proceed with this ill-conceived project as a matter of urgency. We're therefore asking supporters to put in a submission reqesting that the project be dropped.
