2024 Wellington Junior Championships Review
- Swimming Wellington
- Last weekend we witnessed Wellington's fastest junior swimmers compete against each other and for their clubs at the 2024 Swimming Wellington Junior Championships. Held at Coastlands Aquatic Centre, this year’s competition not only delivered many amazing swims, but also showed the future of swimming for both Wellington region and New Zealand as a whole. It was great to see the determination of all these young junior swimmers, supporting each other and making themselves proud.

Rocky out crops
- T3 Track Blog
- These pictures are of 2 rocky out crops on the track, they have been ridden both ways so are deemed to be finished. As you can see by the before and after photos a lot of earth and rock has been moved to make them just right. These two sections were like big jigsaws puzzle to design, trying to fit in the nice natural rock features and make it tricky at the same time.

Win-Win
- Age Concern Wellington
- Win-win Mary* is 85, little, friendly and active. When I joined Age Concern Wellington Region’s Companion Walking Service, I looked forward to walking weekly with her. We live in the same suburb. But after a couple of walks near her rest home and dozens of repetitions of how she was born, schooled and lived all her life in the area, I thought ‘I’m not sure I can do this.’ Shame... Source

Greater Wellington calls for community views on public transport fares
- Greater Wellington Regional Council
- Public consultation on the Future Fares Review is open and Greater Wellington wants the community’s views on changes to our region’s public transport fares. Greater Wellington’s Transport Committee Chair Roger Blakeley says, “one of our strategic priorities outlined in the Regional Public Transport Plan 2021 is to increase mode shift. The new fare types and potential zoning changes have real potential to encourage people out of their cars and onto public transport.”

Ērthe
- Lōemis
- We are delighted to present Ērthe, an elemental effigy designed and built almost entirely out of discarded materials by Luke Scott, with Leda Farrow and an army of helpers. You can visit Ērthe daily and write notes to it (for example something you wish to dispel or happen in the future). These notes will go up in flames on the night of the winter solstice, June 21, as part of our annual Winter Solstice Procession.

Vicars Letter 5th December 2025
- All Saints Hataitai
- Rev Guy Benton Kia ora, All SaintsIt has been a fantastic week following our first week of Advent as we explored the theme of being ready and prepared for God even when we don't know the time or the place, as we think about our being in the middle of two advents, the first of Gods coming in Jesus and the second when Jesus will come again to deliver and redeem the world.

Whitemans Valley storm
- Wellington Veterans Cycling Club
- Due to the recent storm the roads in Whitemans Valley have been seriously affected by slips, trees blown over and power lines taken out. There are a number of different areas between Wallaceville Hill and Blue Mtns Hill that contractors are currently working on. However it is still teaming with rain at 11.30am Thursday and flooding could also be an issue. It would pay to find an alternative training ride if you use these roads.

The Little Dog Laughed: A hack's view.

- Let's get one thing straight; I'm not a theatre reviewer. I'm a cycling journalist who knows a cyclist who works in theatre. The old adage "it's not what you know, it's who you know" holds true in this scenario. While I know more about handlebars and chains than ad-libs and breaking a leg (and although that can happen in cycling, you wouldn't wish it upon someone embarking on a ride), I'm alwa

Off To The Zoo!
- Wellington Homeless Women's Trust
- When was the last time you went to the zoo!? For most of us, it's been many years since we last visited Wellington Zoo, but for some, going to the Zoo has never really been an option – So this was a very exciting outing for us and first time experience for some of our wāhine! We arrived nice and early with our packed lunches and spent the whole day exploring all of the cool enclosures.

Way back then, we were known for setting up an essential community bathing facility, where young people and their families could wash.
