Metlink bike rack practice point encourages cycle savviness
- Greater Wellington Regional Council
- A bus bike rack installed by Greater Wellington allows Wellingtonians to practice attaching their bikes to Metlink buses - without worrying about stopping traffic. The rack is affixed to a near-life-sized image of a Metlink bus on the Bike Space workshop, a city-council sponsored bike repair shop on Cable Street next to Waitangi Park.

Paneke Pōneke approved
- Cycle Wellington
- Yesterday, our City Councillors voted strongly in favour of approving Paneke Pōneke, a network of bike lanes that will serve most Wellington suburbs. This is a huge step forward for Wellington. During the meeting, the network grew by 19kms to cover 166kms. Within 5 years we will be riding the network, built to a transitional level, like has been achieved on Brooklyn Hill.

- A number of Wellington Aero Club members and six light aircraft were recently involved in an initiative to increase vaccination rates around Tairāwhiti (the East Cape area) north of Tūranga-nui-a-Kiwa—Gisborne The idea, conceived by aero club member Mahanga Muru and former member Chris Hoffman, involved flying into some of the more isolated areas of Aotearoa–New Zealand.

Fighting the takeover of the golf course

An airport master plan announced in October 2019 said the terminal would be doubled in size, with “taxiway improvements” for which it wanted to buy the the southern portion of the Miramar Golf Course to provide space for additional aircraft stands, taxiways and aprons.
