Its main aim is to provide a challenging, structured programme for players, in an enjoyable environment that maximises player development. The programme has three objectives: Produce better players in NZ by increasing the number and quality of training sessions for players 13-17 years old Provide clear training guidelines based on NZ environment for youth footballers wanting to be the best they can be Create a clear aspirational pathway for youth footballers in NZ The programme has a clear player development focus rather than outcomes and results focus. House fire - Horoeka Street
- Stokes Valley Volunteer Fire Brigade
- Late last night, the brigade was alerted to a house fire in Horoeka Street, Stokes Valley. The house was fully ablaze when the brigade arrived. Well done to neighbour, Andrew Stephen, for dragging an elderly resident through a window to safety! Stuff.co.nz have posted an article about the fire and Andrew's heroics here.

The Glasgow Street Girls
- Victoria University of Wellington
- Ruth Smidt, Margaret Pointer, and Annette Pearson met in their first year at Victoria University of Wellington back in 1968. While they were all from different backgrounds, and studying different degrees, they became firm friends. Fifty-six years later, they returned to the University and their first flat on Glasgow Street to reminisce days gone by.

Mount Street Cemetery
- The Mount Street Cemetery was the first cemetery in Wellington for Catholic burials and contains the graves of the first nuns and priests in Wellington. It remained open until 1891 although burials continued in existing family plots until 1954. The earliest surviving grave marker dates from 1851, and the latest from 1954. Although only around 200 headstones survive, it is estimated that there could have been as many as 750 to 800 burials. Many of the early markers were simple wooden crosses, which have long since vanished.
