    • Back on track: a missed opportunity
      • A few weeks back, there was an article in the Dominion Post entitled "Commuters return to cars". The trouble was, since it only showed relative figures ("Peak-time passenger growth soared 11.6 per cent in mid-year as fuel prices peaked. This had slowed to about 9 per cent by September."), it was hard to tell whether passenger transport numbers were actually falling, or just growing more slowly.

      • Don Logan FC provided Rovers a lesson in football this afternoon at the Shed of Dreams as they overpowered Rovers 9 - 4 after leading narrowly at half time. "We were a bit disjointed going in to the game with John and George out, Matty not expected to turn up and Pete injured" said Hall "but it was no excuse as we just didn't fire against a team that did".

    • The Elephant in the Room
      • Phil Jones‘ talk on last Wednesday (9 Sept 09) presented the idea of shared spaces (also known as naked streets) in the context of the council’s proposal to convert lower Cuba St into a shared space. This is in compensation for depriving pedestrians of Manners Mall - which is intended to become a giant bus lane in illustration of the transport evolutionary pecking order cars: then buses: then pedestrians.

    • Weekly Club Roundup - Saturday 23rd June 2012
      • 1, 2, 3! Good wins for our Premiers, Senior 1st and Senior 2nds on Saturday saw Upper Hutt and Avalon head home wondering what hit them! Avalon accused our S2nds of fielding too many players – we are struggling for numbers so too many players are impossible! Our Women’s team returned from Stokes Valley with a narrow loss while both our Colts and Reserve team came second against Avalon and Upper Hutt respectively. Netball was 2-1 with Ories Gold continuing on their winning ways. They have been promoted up a grade and with Epi Lima in devastating form won by over 30 goals!
