Letha Whitham's Trip to Sakai and the Senshu marathon
- Wellington Sakai Association
- Quite a late start for what im used to with Marathons, I definitely appreciated the extra time in bed this morning. The day was clear and still with bright sunshine, a whole world away from the windy storms I had experienced while training for this race in Wellington. I was happy the weather was on our side even if it was a lowly 9 degrees on the start line.

Hanami (Cherry Blossom Viewing) Picnic - 27 September 2015
- Wellington Sakai Association
- This year's hanami picnic was postponed a week due to bad weather on the original date. This may have lead to the smaller than usual turn out, but none the less we had a great time enjoying some lovely food catered by Yoshi Sushi and Bento, along with some beautiful bentos made by members who had attended the bento class several weeks earlier.

Senshu Marathon 2015 Report - Andrew Wharton
- Wellington Sakai Association
- Many times before I left I was told “it’s not about the Marathon”. At the time I smiled and agreed but the competitor in me said otherwise, as far as I was concerned, it was “all about the Marathon”. In hindsight I was completely wrong. The Marathon is one of a multitude of different experiences and interactions within a culture that is so different to our own.
