These are the fixtures of your neighbourhood
- The Wellingtonista
- One of the things about living in a great city like Wellington is that there are a hell of a lot of things to take for granted. I mention this because while listening to Don McGlashan in Civic Square the other day he mentioned that Auckland doesn't really have any civic art. I'm not sure that's entirely true... But, in the spirit of parochial one-upmanship I thought I'd bring you some of Wellington's oft-overlooked art and sculpture.

Practical Training
- Coastguard Mana
- Three groups split up. One went out on Protector, one went out on Pelorus and the other stayed in the base and did radio work between both vessels. The Protector crew took the boat out the channel and over the bar a couple of times to do some nighttime practice crossing the bar, holding station in the wind and navigating with the lights. The Pelorus crew operated inshore under the Paramata bridge and in the marina doing manouvering, etc.

Triangular Parks
- Eye of the Fish
- With a brief flurry of media attention last week, and typical fluffy media attention more on Miley Cyrus than the ideas inside, the Wellington 2040 vision was confirmed by a Council meeting. Today, there will be the opening of two container consultation stations (one in Te Aro Park and one on the Waterfront?) which will unveil some of the report. And finally, next week, the public may get a chance to really see what has been proposed.

Weekly Club Roundup - Saturday 12th May 2012
- Oriental Rongotai Football Club
- A good result for our Premiers over the scarfies, a mixture of results in other grades. We have included the Dom Post report for an unbiased view of the game. Where it reads “neither team could string any decent series of play” read a lopsided penalty count where one team was allowed to infringe and one wasn’t. The penalty count was 6-22 against while in most other games this season the penalty count has been 50/50.
