A park? Or houses? Or both?
- Wellington Scoop
- A regional park above Shelly Bay on the Miramar Peninsula? Or houses? Or is there room for both? A DomPost report today says that hundreds of new homes could be fast tracked on the Peninsula. Michael Daly writes that iwi Taranaki Whānui and developer Ian Cassels are applying for consent to build 600 to 700 houses on 8 hectares of the former Mt Crawford Prison which closed in 2012.

A sporting site
- WellUrban
- Submissions on the Draft Waterfront Development Plan close on Friday, and while my opinion on most of it is just "get on with it", there's one area where I'll be promoting a specific change. While the ground floors of Sites 8, 9 and 10 have been designated simply as "retail", I think that Site 10 should be explicitly set aside as an indoor sports facility to replace Sheds 1 and 6.

- This very happy looking young man is New Zealander Ron Tonkins (pictured with Margaret Chapman) who travelled to Hollywood in 1946 and worked as a publicity photographer. Interesting thing is, during his time in Hollywood he shot reels and reels of Super 8 film footage like any usual tourist. Weekly Club Roundup - Saturday 23rd June 2012
- Oriental Rongotai Football Club
- 1, 2, 3! Good wins for our Premiers, Senior 1st and Senior 2nds on Saturday saw Upper Hutt and Avalon head home wondering what hit them! Avalon accused our S2nds of fielding too many players – we are struggling for numbers so too many players are impossible! Our Women’s team returned from Stokes Valley with a narrow loss while both our Colts and Reserve team came second against Avalon and Upper Hutt respectively. Netball was 2-1 with Ories Gold continuing on their winning ways. They have been promoted up a grade and with Epi Lima in devastating form won by over 30 goals!
