- The opening day’s play of Round Three of the Wilkinson Pearce Cup saw the top three sides on the back foot in their matches. Leaders Eastern Suburbs were 113 for 4 in reply to Onslow’s first innings score of 278. - A big CONGRATULATIONS to our Senior A Netball team for winning their College 1 Netball Grade on Saturday 22 August. It was a very close match but WHS pulled away in the 4th quarter to beat Wellington Girls 32-24. The team played so well, kept to the game plan and have the result to show for it. Well done to everyone involved!

Metlink commits to wage increase and shift redesign for Tranzurban drivers
- Metlink
- From December 1 Metlink will be increasing Tranzurban driver wages to $27 an hour as part of its commitment to retain and attract drivers across the region. The move will take Tranzurban drivers up to a flat rate of $27 an hour, with Wellington drivers seeing around a $3 an hour increase, Hutt Valley drivers $3.80 and Wairarapa drivers $4.25.

Porirua Hospital Museum
- The Porirua Hospital Museum and Resource Centre is housed in F-Ward, built in 1909 as part of the Porirua Hospital campus. It records the history of the development of mental health services in New Zealand from what can be considered their inception in 1844. The Museum, a Category 1 historic place, contains a collection of artefacts from the history of Porirua Hospital, including its time as a psychiatric facility.

The Thistle Inn
- The Thistle Inn was built in 1840. she is the oldest hotel in NZ still trading from the original site. In July 1866 she was burnt to the ground but by December the same year she was back operating. You will see the original beer cellar through the glass floor. She is a Category 1 historic place building and was completely restored in 2004 (as close as possible to how she was in 1866).

- VDC is the largest Dragon Boat Club in the Wellington region and is open to new paddlers from all experience levels Established in 2009 we are an energetic group of dragon boaters. Our club is made up of people from all over and from all age groups, in 2021 we had 5 teams paddling.

Hutt Valley Mountain Bike Club
- Established in 1991, the club covers the greater Wellington area, with a preference for cross country riding. The club provides a range of organised riding options including Sunday rides and Jungle rides, but probably the most popular is the Wednesday night rides. These can have anywhere from 5 to 20 or more depending on the ride.
