    • WXA AGM elects new President, officers
      • At the Wellington Xiamen Association's 2013 AGM held on Tuesday 29 October Chris Lipscombe stood down as President of the Association and Janet Andrews was elected unopposed. Bobby Ng also stood down as Treasurer after 12 years' service, and was replaced by committee member Huang Shu.

    • Xiamen ‘first stop’ for WCC manager
      • Wellington City Council's Economic Growth Manager Katie Sadleir visited Xiamen last month on her first trip to China and attended the opening of the 2013 China International Fair for Investment and Trade. WXA President Chris Lipscombe was in Xiamen for the opening event, accompanied by WXA members Wendy Chen and Meijian Chi.

      • The visit of Xiamen Deputy Mayor Kang Tao and city officials to Wellington was the final event in a year of activities celebrating the 25th anniversary of the sister city relationship between Xiamen and Wellington.

    • 25 years of sisterhood
      • …and, to celebrate, a photographic exhibition from Xiamen, China. To mark the 25 years of our sister-city relationship with Xiamen, Wellington is next week hosting the Xiamen Deputy Mayor, Mr Kang Tao, along with a civic, cultural and educational delegation. They will bring with them a large photographic essay of Xiamen city.

    • WXA wins prestigious award
      • At the recent New Zealand Sister Cities conference, the Wellington Xiamen Association (WXA) won the education section of the prestigious Air New Zealand Sister Cities Award for 2012 for the Wellington-Xiamen Paediatric Project.

    • Whistle-stop visit to Wellington
      • A three-member Xiamen Museum delegation headed by Ms. Zeng Ying, the Deputy Director of Xiamen Museum, arrived in Wellington on 25 April for a whistle-stop visit. The opportunity to further a potential working relationship between Xiamen Museum and Gibson Group was also the occasion for an enjoyable dinner between delegation members and WXA.

    • A Xiamen Afternoon
      • After a rather dismal summer, the autumn sun shone on the second annual Wellington-Xiamen Barbecue and the 70 members and guests gathered together to celebrate our 25th year as sister cities.
