    • Call to Arms 2017
      • Call to Arms 2017 will be on 5-6 August at St Patrick’s College Hall, Rongotai, Wellington. Preliminary information at this time is: Competitions planned for 2017: Kings of War Age of Sigmar Warhammer 40k Ancients DBMM 25mm Malifaux Flames of War Dystopian Wars We will not be offering a War Machine competition. The Wellington-based organiser and the Warlords committee were not able to agree on the conditions for holding this. This will not be part of Call to Arms 2017. The cost will be $45 for competitors if paid by the early bird discount date (by 21 July 2017, to be confirmed) otherwise $60 (no change from last year). Warlords members will get a further $5 discount for the above. In addition, there will be display games, trade stands and a bring and buy stand. Early registrations are welcome.     • AGM and Meeting Date Changes: December 2016 and January 2017
      • Upcoming Meeting Date Changes: 31 December 2016 (5th Saturday of December) = This meeting will not be held. 7 January 2017 (1st Saturday of January) = This meeting postponed a week to 14 January 2016, due to the Church doing some work on the hall floor over 7-8 January. The AGM will be held on 14 January 2017 (2nd Saturday of January). Members please attend if you can make it. Subscriptions for 2017 can be paid to the Treasurer at the meeting or deposited directly into the club bank account. Email for details.

    • Vermintide less than a month away
      • Sat 12th of Nov. Book this date out and get registered for the Vermintide 1 day tournament using 2nd ed Kings of War. The cost is only $20 ($15 if you are a member of Warlords). The Players Pack can be found here (425 KB docx) There is a limit of 24 people, so first in first served.     • Warpstorm IX 40k tournament 29th-30th Oct
      • Held on the weekend of 29th/30th October 2016 at Cashmere Avenue School, Khandallah, Wellington Interestingly, the last qualifying 40k tournament before the 2016 Masters.     • Call to Arms 2016 this weekend
      • This weekend, 6-7 August, is Call to Arms So come along to St Patrick’s College Hall, 581 Evans Bay Parade, Kilbirnie and join us. Aside from the great tournaments we will also be having some demo games available, including Frostgrave, Napoleonics, two Naval games and the Dystopian Legions on Saturday. The Crossways Community Creche catering on site with tables and chairs setup, so come grab something to eat will you peruse the offerings on the trade tables. Both Modelcrafts and Hobbies and also The Hobby Corner (Paraparaumu Beach Chemist) will be here. There will also be a bring and buy table, so take some time to go through your unloved items and bring them along to sell. Prizes have been sponsored by both Mighty Ape and Modelcrafts & Hobbies.

    • More 22 July early bird enticements
      • In order to get you to register and pay before the 22 July, another enticement is dangled before you. Every competitor registered and payed in full before 22 July will go into the draw for a $50 voucher, generously provided by Modelcrafts and Hobbies (organising committee members excluded). Further Modelcrafts and Hobbies prize support, in the form of $50 vouchers will go to the top three (in terms of numbers of entrants) un-sponsored competitions. So make sure to help your fellow players out and get a registration in for Call To Arms 2016.

    • 40k tournament prize support confirmed
      • 40k Tournament Prize Support Thanks to Mighty Ape, we can confirm they will be supplying the following prizes for those that make the at Call to Arms First prize is the Tidewall Gunrig, with second prize receiving the Munitorum Armoured Containers and third prize getting Firestorm Redoubt (not pictured) In addition, attendees of the 40k tournament will all receive a discount code for use at Mighty Ape. This is looking to be a popular tournament, so come and be one of our great competitors. Register here

    • Blood Bowl Players Pack released for Call to Arms
      • The Blood Bowl “Call to Arms Cup 2016” will be run during Call to Arms this year.   Details are:   6th/7th August 2016 9.00am – 5.00pm (one day option available). St Patrick’s College School Hall, 581 Evans Bay Parade, Kilbirnie, Wellington Tournament Officials: The Tournament Organiser (TO) for the event will be Steve Arthurs.  Steve can be contacted on via his email (in the players pack or via a PM (Shteve0) on member.thenaf.net, nzbbn.com, ausbowl.com or talkfantasyfootball.org.  Tournament Officials will be drawn from a pool of volunteer coaches of the WBBL (wbbl.nzbbn.com). Cost: Early bird tickets start at $45 for both days or $25 for just day one, and are available from www.warlords.co.nz/conventions/call-t-arms-2016/registration/ until 22 July (after which date cost increases to $60 and $40 respectively). The Capital to Arms Cup will be a NAF-ranked event. Non-NAF members are encouraged to register at a one-off cost of $15, including a free set of limited run block dice (under 16s may register for free).  Registration with the NAF will be available over the weekend via the TO.

    • CTA Early Bird discount extended to Friday 22 Jul
      • In some great news for the procrastinators among us, we have extended the Call To Arms Early Bird discount to the 22nd of July. Those of you who have all ready paid the non discount rate, a refund will be made to make sure all Early Birds get the extended discount. Be sure you pay for your registration by the 22nd of July. That’s right you have to actually pay before the deadline, not just register, an important point to remember.  

    • X-Wing Call To Arms Players Pack released
      • Two short, 1 day X-wing tournaments will be held at Call to Arms, this year. Come along and win a tournament or come both days and go for a double result. You can register online. Basic information Dates: 6th to 7th of August, 2016. August. Venue: St Patrick’s College, Kilbirnie. Format: Each day will be a separate round robin* 100 point X-wing tournament with a twist.  *The tournaments may switch to Swiss format if we have a high turnout. Costs $25 for 1 day, $45 for both days if payment is made before 22nd July Note that for late registration payments, after 22nd June 2016 costs rise to $60 (NZD) ($40 for 1 day tournaments) Rounds: four rounds max.     • Age of Sigmar
      • There will be a 1 day Age of Sigmar tournament. It will be very interesting to see this new game played at Call to Arms this year. The players pack is not far away and will be put up here as soon as it is finalised.

    • Lord of the Rings CTA 2016 Players pack out
      • With players pack out, get your army sorted and register. This will be a great 2 days of LoTR gaming.     • We have a Flames of War umpire
      • We now have a Flames of War umpire, so we will be running Flames of War for Call to Arms 2016. If you have not allready, sign up for this excellent tournament at our CTA 2016 registration page.

    • Guild Ball has been added to CTA 2016
      • Yes that’s right. Guild Ball will have a Call to Arms 2016 tournament. This is great news, so go to the registration page and sign up. When: 6-7th August 2016 Where St Patrick’s College Hall, 581 Evans Bay Parade, Kilburnie, Wellington. Event The event is two (2) single day events. Each day consisting of four (4) rounds of Guild Ball Each day is treated as a separate event, so you may use different teams (including guilds) between days

    • Dystopian Wars CTA 2016 Players pack

    • Warlords Super Series “Winter” KoW Tournament
      • Just a note to remind you about the Warlords Super Series “Winter” – Kings of War Tournament happening on the 2nd of July You can find the Players Pack here (dropbox, doc) Event is $25 or free if you’ve signed up to be a Warlords member. With 11 already coming along, it is looking to be a great day of wargaming. Four rounds of 2000 points using rulebook scenarios.     • Maelstrom IX, a local Wellington 40K tournament
      • In a little under two weeks, the local wellington 40K Tournament Maelstrom IX will be held. This will surely be of interest to all club 40K players and will be run by Hagen Kerr. It will be held at the Cashmere Avenue School in Khandallah on the 11-12th of June 2016.     • CTA 2016 Malifaux players pack (Into the Breach) available
      • Into the Breach 2016 The players pack has just come out Into-the-Breach-2016 (pdf, 666k)   Key things to note are: Saturday 6th of August St. Patrick’s College Hall, 581 Evans Bay Parade, Kilbirnie, Wellington Arrive 9am for a 9:30 start to the first game $25 early bird fee before 15 July ($40 after this) Into the Breach is a 3 round, 50ss fixed Faction tournament, using the Gaining Grounds 2016 format

    • Call to Arms update
      • While we are waiting for the final players packs to arrive, we though it a good time to advertise what will be in store for us in Call to Arms 2016. The Competitions will be: DBMM Dystopian Wars Kings of War Lord of the Rings Malifaux Warhammer 40,000 We will also have some demonstration games, the all important Trade tables and a Bring and Buy area. Catering will be available onsite. We are still looking for a Flames of War TA, so there is still hope this can be added to our list of competitions. We look forward to seeing everyone for a great two days of gaming and those who will drop on by during the weekend.

    • Flames of War umpire required
      • It turns out we have failed to find an umpire for Flames of War for Call to Arms 2016. Yep, that means if we cannot pull off a Christmas miracle and find someone who can take on this awesome task, we will be unable to host a Flames of War tournament. So this post is our version of walking down the 747 aisle asking if anyone in the plane is a pilot. Please, if you do have knowledge of Flames of War and can be in Wellington for the 6th and 7th of August to umpire an event, we would love to hear from you. Please email calltoarms@warlords.org.nz.
