    • Court 1 re-opens Thursday
      • Good news everyone: with Covid Alert Level 2 starting first thing Thursday morning, we can get back into tennis again — and Court 1 is available for play as of Thursday. Why only court 1? Well, more good news, the work has started on resurfacing Courts 2-4, so they are out of action for a few weeks. but new brand new surfaces are close at hand!  Covid safe play guidelines We will put Covid safe play guidelines up on the site before Level 2 commences to ensure everyone knows what to do when using the club’s facilities. As part of that, the club house upstairs will remain closed but the changing rooms downstairs will be open. Happy hitting!

    • Potential winter and autumn tennis opportunities
      • Hi members, we hope lockdown is going well for you all. As the government plans our way out of lockdown, Tennis Central is looking on the bright side and taking entries for tennis comps in autumn and winter. Look on the bright side, too, and sign up! Winter interclub Winter interclub is a mixed doubles event with grades for all abilities, played Sunday afternoons, potentially starting late May. WTC generally has teams in all grades. If you’d like to play, contact Ben Leggett at president@wellingtontennisclub.org.nz Business house Get a group of friends or colleagues together and register for autumn business house, played evenings and indoors at the Renouf Centre. Details here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdBEMQuKcL07Pj8Xj34iMMAvrEsEZ1zs-X8PYJMurC1Yfj-6w/viewform When will tennis at WTC return? Because of the lockdown, the resurfacing of Courts 1, 2 and 3 was put on hold and we have a new start date for that work pencilled in for 8 May. The club committee has decided the club will remain closed until that work is completed. This fits in with Tennis NZ’s recommendation that club tennis be suspended until NZ is down to Alert Level 2. Club off limits Just a reminder that the club is off limits to everyone until the club re-opens. That means — do not enter club grounds. Thank you for your understanding.
