      • Dream Job Available!!!!!! VUWSA is now hiring 2016′s Salient editor/s This job starts in February and is a paid position of 37.5 hours per week if one editor or 20 hours each if two. The job involves putting the magazine together each week of semester, liaising with contributors, managing a group of paid staff and volunteers, recommending the 2017 student media budget to VUWSA, and engaging with the student body. Mac knowledge is preferable. If you think this could be you, or if you’d like a detailed job description, email the VUWSA Office Administrator timothy.grigg@vuwsa.org.nz Applications should include a cover letter outlining your vision for Salient 2016, your CV, and a portfolio of your written work. The deadline for applications is Sunday 30 August at 5pm.

      • VUWSA website design competition. VUWSA is having a new website built and we welcome your design concepts Are you: A graphic designer, artist, or even someone who is apt enough with a pencil to draw their idea? Passionate about the student lifestyle and making sure student’s needs are catered for? Then you should submit your entry for our website design Your design should: Incorporate the VUWSA logo (see below)  and colours (VUWSA Green is: RGB: 7ec244) Have a student-oriented “look” Be easily altered to suit requirements of the website developer Be easily submitted via email Prize for the winner of the competition: Your design will be used on our new website! $250 cash Please submit all designs to timothy.grigg@vuw.ac.nz  by 4pm on June 12th www.vuwsa.org.nz (please ignore the Buy & Sell as we don’t do that now)

      • VUWSA has a job opening which requires a reliable student who can cover various tasks assigned to them. This job involves collecting bread from bakeries in Te Aro and Aro Valley and bringing it back to our Kelburn based office, covering a reception desk and maintaining lockers. You’ll be needed: Every Wednesday morning between 9am-12pm for the rest of Trimester 1 (these hours will change in Trimester 2) Every Friday from approximately 8am until 9am. The rest of the hours will be filled during the week depending on your availability. We stand for workers’ power and international socialism, and are involved in activism supporting trade unions, for a woman’s right to choose, and against capitalism and the racism, sexism and homophobia it breeds. We support Te Mana movement. We hold regular meetings on political topics here on campus to discuss the issues of the day. Get involved!
