Interviews start at 8.30am and end at 4.30pm and each learning conversation lasts for 15 minutes. Appointments – families can make an appointment on our online booking system at www.schoolinterviews.co.nz code = k4yfj Venues – All Learning Conversations are in ako rooms St Mary’s College will contact workplaces to release parents on request if there are issues getting time off work. Parents contact kaiako directly about this please. There are no lessons on Friday 07 June 2019 – so we need to see all students and their families to ensure there is a good use of learning and teaching time. Notification of Additional Industrial Action
- St Mary's College
- As you are aware, the PPTA has initiated industrial action in support of the teachers’ collective agreement claim. The strike this Wednesday, 29 May, is the first action to be taken. We have now been notified that further action will take place over the last 5 weeks of this term. The action is a mix of rolling strikes (different regions striking on different days of the week) and rostering home (different year levels not taught across the country on certain days – so the specified year level doesn’t come to school that day). This is the plan: Tuesday 4 June Year 9 rostered home Tuesday 11 June Year 10 rostered home (Sacred Heart Exchange TBC) Friday 21 June Wellington region strike day – school will be closed Tuesday 25 June Year 11 rostered home Tuesday 2 July Year 12 rostered home As is always the case, action could be called off at the last minute if negotiations are heading towards a settlement. Please listen to the media – it is likely they will know before we can inform you. We all hope there will be a palatable solution in the near future. If that doesn’t eventuate I will be in touch about Term 3 action before the end of this term. Regards Helen Hardwick

St Mary’s placed 3rd in O’Shea Shield Competition
- St Mary's College
- Last weekend we took a team of 16 students to St Peter’s College in Palmerston North. They competed in Debating, Oratory, Maori Scripture Reading and English Scripture Reading, Junior Prepared Speech, Religious Drama, Impromptu and Religious Questions. The girls did St Mary’s proud and we ended up coming third out of 17 schools. A great effort. The girls and coaches had put in hours of work in preparation and I thank them all for their efforts.
