    • BNU v. Waterside Karori
      • In a moment of scheduling madness this match was put down for Sunday 14th of May, the afternoon after the best FA Cup Final in living memory. To watch the magnificent footballing mastery that is Liverpool Football Club and the skills of perhaps the best player of our time, Steven Gerrard, and then have to turn up to Nairnville Park to play on a greasy pitch in inclement weather provides a contrast of Grand Canyon-like proportions.

    • Wellington MTBO Series - {Makara} Peak
      • Brilliant weather in other parts of Wellington today was replaced by mist on the top of {Makara} Peak, and a bit of a breeze buffeted riders on exposed tracks such as Ridgeline. However it was great in the bush and afterwards on the grass as the scores were totted up. Stephen Betts judged things nicely with slightly too many controls for MP Supporters president John Randal to visit - he scored 470 out of a possible 540.

    • Rasa Malaysia – top eats near the top’o Cuba
      • Over the past couple of months I have been reviewing Malaysian restaurants all around Wellington for Malaysia Kitchen (full disclosure – I got refunded some of the costs). It’s time to share the reviews! A freezing southerly was blowing around Wellington when I met with a group of friends at Rasa Malaysia on Upper Cuba Street, pushing all thoughts of trying something new out of my mind. The weather meant I had to have my favourite laksa.

    • Exhibition - Deborah Barton
      • Deborah Barton is a Wellington-based print maker. She has done a number of exhibitions, and is about to open at the Solander Gallery in Lyall Bay this Saturday, 13 October. Deborah's prints are dark and intriguing, with overtones of childhood mysteries. And now for the good news. As a young artist Deborah's work is surprisingly reasonably priced... Need I say more.

    • Nicked!
      • The above piece of artwork is part of a series entitled Eye Candy and was skilfully hand painted by resident Wellington artist, Brad Williams aka Slope, and until sometime during the 31st of October, was on display at (best late nite venue nominee) Sandwiches. On which date it was nicked - during daylight hours - and both the Sandwiches lads and Slope are understandably upset.
