- Wellington Aero Club brought 2 Waco aircraft during the 1930s. Buying aircraft from the USA was a controversial decision at the time and most previous purchased aircraft had been British made. The Waco was chosen because it was particularly suitable to be used as an air ambulance and much more suitable than the Puss Moth previously used by the aero club....

Tuatara Day at Karori Wildlife Sanctuary
- Karori Sanctuary Trust
- Come face-to-face with our unique living fossils and talk to the experts who study them. Some people call the Sanctuary Jurassic Park, referring to our trademark 2-metre high predator-proof fence. But recently this nickname has become even more appropriate, because the Sanctuary is now home to a prehistoric animal whose close ancestors were around with the dinosaurs.

Year 9 in Retreat
- St Patricks College, Silverstream
- Wednesday 2 December 2009: "Belonging" was the theme for the 2009 Year 9 Retreat. Through a range of activities, students reflected on the history of the college and what it really means to "belong". Unfortunately, the much-anticipated swim in the College pool was abandoned due to inclement weather. The day finished with a Mass led by Father John Greally.

- But as a coach of a Division 7 football team in Brooklyn, its been a frustrating year with the weather. All to often grounds are closed or games are called off. This is understandable, as its better not to cut the grounds up, and miss out on training or playing on those very same grounds for another 2 weeks or more.
