- Operation Details Date/Time: Sun, 31/05/2020 - 15:00 - 17:00 Operation Type: SAROP Cat 1 People Assisted: 3 Total Volunteer Hours: 2 A vessel had been calling for a tow from South of Rock Point, Maritime radio picked up the request and rebroadcast but no other vessels offered to assist and Police called Coastguard. As our crew were arriving at the base another vessel coming in from the North heard the radio call and offered to assist. Police requested that Coastguard confirm that all was ok with the tow so we went out and checked. 15m Yacht with broken rudder

- Operation Details Date/Time: Sat, 26/12/2020 - 09:10 - 16:00 Operation Type: SAROP Cat 1 People Assisted: 2 Total Volunteer Hours: 75 A 15m yacht broke its rudder approximately 2NM west of Mana Island whilst crossing to the South Island. MR1 was tasked by Police to tow them home. By the time we got to them the wind had got up to 25-35kts and they had drifted 7NM west of Mana Island. We towed them back in challenging conditions and put them at anchor just outside the Mana bar, as they were unable to cross it at low tide. Ski had launched from Paramatta Bridge, moved to Titahi Bay and then had the failure. Ski was anchored but no local assist available. TAR engaged with master revalidation. Capability issue reviewed with the assessor and task undertaken. On scene advice given to try a restart but ski failed to operate. 1 POB from ski taken onto TAR and the ski with 1 POB assisted close to shore. - 24 is a new type of swim meet. 10 teams, each with 24 members in 3 age groups. $500 will be awarded to the winning team on the night. The meet will be held at WRAC on 1 May 2010. AV Collection Moving to Central Level 2
- Victoria University Library
- The collection of audio-visual resources held in the Central Library will be moved from Level 9 to Level 2 Closed Reserve this week. This includes DVDs, CDs, and VHS. The collection is being moved as part of the Central Library Redevelopment, one piece of the Campus Hub Project. We are moving the AV collection now to minimise disruption during trimester 1.

Leaders Eastern Suburbs were 113 for 4 in reply to Onslow’s first innings score of 278. Law Library Open
- Victoria University Library
- After a tremendous effort over the weekend from staff and students the Law Library is operational once more and all books have been reshelved. Levels 1 and 2 are completely open for business today. Level 3 is shut for minor repair to shelving units but staff can retrieve books from this level. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the Law Library.

WIN! For Senior A Netball
- Wellington High School
- A big CONGRATULATIONS to our Senior A Netball team for winning their College 1 Netball Grade on Saturday 22 August. It was a very close match but WHS pulled away in the 4th quarter to beat Wellington Girls 32-24. The team played so well, kept to the game plan and have the result to show for it. Well done to everyone involved!

Porirua Hospital Museum
- The Porirua Hospital Museum and Resource Centre is housed in F-Ward, built in 1909 as part of the Porirua Hospital campus. It records the history of the development of mental health services in New Zealand from what can be considered their inception in 1844. The Museum, a Category 1 historic place, contains a collection of artefacts from the history of Porirua Hospital, including its time as a psychiatric facility.

The Thistle Inn
- The Thistle Inn was built in 1840. she is the oldest hotel in NZ still trading from the original site. In July 1866 she was burnt to the ground but by December the same year she was back operating. You will see the original beer cellar through the glass floor. She is a Category 1 historic place building and was completely restored in 2004 (as close as possible to how she was in 1866).
