Reminder: Standard fares return for passengers under 25 from 1 May
- Metlink
- Fares for passengers aged 24 and under will return to standard pricing from Wednesday 1 May, following the rollback of the former government’s age-based concessions. Metlink reminds passengers, especially parents and guardians, to make sure their children’s Snapper cards are ‘topped up’ before travelling.

Branch Meeting Thursday 25 September: National Train Control VHF Radio Communications

- The ONTRACK National Train Control Centre at the Wellington Railway Station communicates with the locomotive drivers out on the track using a VHF radio network. This month we are fortunate to have John Skilton, Manager Signals and Telecommunications Engineering at ONTRACK, and Stu Lusty from Kordia, coming to speak to us about the upgrade of this train control VHF radio system and the new technologies that are being employed. Members and guests are welcome to come along to what should be an interesting and informative evening.

- UnitedFuture leader and Ohariu MP, Peter Dunne, says the establishment of an Auckland supercity makes it inevitable and necessary that Wellington would go down a similar path. Addressing the Wellington Federation of Progressive Associations annual meeting this evening, Mr Dunne said years of regional infighting and a lack of cohesion meant Auckland had consistently failed to pull its weight.

Naenae Clubhouse Bike Box
- The Naenae Clubhouse Bike Box was established in 2017. The Bike Box is a community cycle repair shop run of out an old shipping container and is situated outside of the Treadwell Hall at 25 Treadwell Street, Naenae. The Bike Box runs a programme at Naenae Clubhouse with the aim to provide free bikes to young people and their families.
