P2 Men Vs Hutt 23/06/07 Lost 2 - 5
- Upper Hutt Hockey Club
- Yet another game where we showed that we can match it with the best teams in the grade. The game started with us with most of the ball, however Hutt got the first goal of the game. We responded with a goal from Jason Eade to even it up at 1-1 in the 2nd half. Hutt then got a couple quick goals, due to us not marking well enough. Jason eade finished off the scoring with another goal from a good team attacking move. The game also included a strong first up appearance from Paul Gardiner filling in for an absent Chad at the back.

October 2012: Trust’s sculptures valued at $7.5 million
- Wellington Sculpture Trust
- Extract from an address to the Joint Annual Dinner of the Karori Rotary and Lions Clubs, 31 October 2012 by Neil Plimmer, Chairman of the Wellington Sculpture Trust. “We get much favourable feedback from the public about the 25 sculptures that we have provided for Wellington over our lifetime, but the proof that holds the most sway is that Wellingtonians keep funding them. We thrive on the support and benefaction of the people of Wellington. “The total cost of the 25 sculptures is $4.5 million which inflation-adjusted yields about $7.5 million. The overwhelming bulk of this is raised privately, from companies, family trusts, individuals, grant-giving bodies and other sources.

Thalia Zedek (USA) and Ned Collette (AUS) | Vogelmorn Upstairs
- Vogelmorn Community Group
- STRANGE NEWS & HOME ALONE MUSIC PRESENT THALIA ZEDEK & NED COLLETTE NEW ZEALAND TOUR - JUNE 2025 Wednesday 18 June - Auckland Unitarian Church, Auckland Thursday 19 June - Vogelmorn Upstairs, Wellington Friday 20 June (Ned Collette only) - Lyttelton Coffee Co, Lyttelton “For those that don’t know, Zedek has been one of the most compelling players and singers of the last quarter-century of American music” - The Quietus “...Collette turns folk music into something uncanny and gorgeous” - Aquarium Drunkard Auckland’s Strange News Touring have teamed up with Wellington record label and collective Home Alone Music to announce two very special shows this June featuring two incredible artists, Thalia Zedek and Ned Collette. A true icon of alternative music, Thalia Zedek has been part of some of underground independent music’s fiercest and finest moments, including Live Skull and Uzi in the 1980s, and noisy 90s indie favourites Come. Since then, Thalia has become a mainstay on legendary Chicago label Thrill Jockey (Trans Am, Rose City Band) with her brilliant Thalia Zedek Band output. As her label tells it, “Her ability to deliver raw emotions through her vivid stories of loss and hope, strife and triumph is unmatched”. New album The Boat Outside Your Window arrives next month, with new singles Tsunami and Naming Names suggesting this record is set to turn heads and destroy worlds. Zedek has never shied away from mining some seriously desperate emotional terrain - Pitchfork While these days he calls Berlin home, Ned Collette is both an Aussie lad and card-carrying Kiwi. Ned’s early years were spent playing experimental music in the underground venues of Wellington and Melbourne, before he headed off into the wild yonder to seek fame and fortune, or at least some amazing adventures. Seven albums in, his latest record Our Other History features hometown pals Leah Senior, Jim White (Dirty Three), Chris Abrahams (The Necks), and more. “...as rewarding a listening experience as I’ve come across in recent times” – Will Oldham on Ned Collette’s album Our Other History This marks the first time Thalia will have ever graced our shores, and it’s a very overdue return visit for Ned. These shows will be absolutely unmissable, so best not miss them, eh? NOTE: South Island Ned-heads will get their fix too, with Ned Collette performing solo at Lyttelton Coffee Co on June 20! Tickets at UTR

Wellington has 5.8 Billon of Performing Assets -Yeah Right!
- Bryan Pepperell - Back To The Future
- Prendergast has recently stated .."The City has $5.8 billion worth of assets. Our debt is just 4 % of our total assets. Council has agreed to borrow up to $20 million a year to pay for new assets. " The statement from Mayor Prendergast about the value of the city's assets in relationship to debt shows just why we are heading for a meltdown.

Inevitable? Why one Basin flyover will be followed by a second Basin flyover
- Wellington Scoop
- The NZ Transport Agency should come clean on its flyover plans. Our practice believes that one flyover will pave the way for a second. The Agency’s proposed options for mitigation of the flyover, which it has developed in agreement with the Wellington City Council, include a “commitment to consolidate state highway traffic away from Vivian Street and into a single east-west corridor.”

A City for People
- Decades of inaction have meant house prices are out of control, while old rental properties rot out from underneath us. A whole generation of people are at risk of being forced out from the central city into new suburbs sprawling north, spending hours every day in traffic jams. We believe the Spatial Plan will allow Wellington to plan for the future so that new generations of Wellingtonians can share the city we love, and have a chance to live in a home that is affordable, accessible, healthy and warm.

Mount Street Cemetery
- The Mount Street Cemetery was the first cemetery in Wellington for Catholic burials and contains the graves of the first nuns and priests in Wellington. It remained open until 1891 although burials continued in existing family plots until 1954. The earliest surviving grave marker dates from 1851, and the latest from 1954. Although only around 200 headstones survive, it is estimated that there could have been as many as 750 to 800 burials. Many of the early markers were simple wooden crosses, which have long since vanished.
