BNU v. Lower Hutt, 0-3
- Brooklyn Northern United AFC
- Without a doubt this was a clash eagerly anticipated by all the BNU players. Come 2:30pm Saturday we would be playing on what was tipped to be the pitch of the season and the surface was the topic of conversation early in the week leading up to the game. But like many fields in the capital, it couldnâÂÂt cope with the consistent rain and Karori number 1 was underwater.

Lads with Minerals
- Karori Slapperz AFC
- A controversial decision by Wellington Soccer to close the home of football, resulted in a late ground and time change to 12.30 at McAllister Park. The guys turned up, still obviously miffed by this disappointment. It is every young Karori players dream to run out onto on the No.1 turf in the 2.30 time slot when the whole community can be heard cheering on the black and whites from the welcoming pavilion balcony setting.

summer city
- The Wellingtonista
- For some of the smallest Wellingtonistas the most important part of the council's Summer City festival has finished with the end of Fairy Trina's wildly popular run of Enchanted Tales on Saturday. And this evening marked the end of a series of pretty interesting evening Gardens Magic events with a gig by OdESSA. But fear not - there's still lots more excitement for everyone between now and the end of March when the festival wraps up.

The Forest Grows
- Eye of the Fish
- In the wake of the Athfield waterfront win, a new seed is set to sprout up in the inner city. Taking root in the Willis New World Metro, this new tower is the latest in a string of green buildings that have been proposed or built. Aiming to achieve a five star Green rating, it seems to tick all the standard boxes: efficient air conditioning and circulation, double skinned glazing and sensor-operated lighting.

Premier v Naenae - 09/05/09 - W 2-0
- Island Bay United AFC
- A hearty welcome back to Naenae, whom we hadn't played against in top flight football for a number of years. This of course creates the issue of not knowing how they play, who was dangerous, and how we could bet them. Coaches problems really. The weather had been horrible all week, but on Saturday Wakefield Park was bathed in sunshine, and still (Yes, you read it - Still!!)Our guys turned up to pla

BNU Div 16 v Porirua City - 11/4/09
- Brooklyn Northern United AFC
- BNU 2 - Porirua City 5 BNU came up against a youthful and skilled Porirua City side at Adventure Park, eventually going down by 2-5 scoreline. In an open, attacking first half BNU found themselves 3 goals down after half an hour but, as last week, fought back well with a strike from John Lee after a determined run into the box and a deft near-post header from Carl Roberts after a concerted period

He was born in Hong Kong before moving to Newtown at the age of 3, speaks four languages and has traveled widely. Putaputa Shelter – Kaitoke Regional Park
- Wellington Tramping and Mountainneering Club
- The Putaputa A-frame shelter in Kaitoke Regional Park had been on my to-do list for a while. - But as a coach of a Division 7 football team in Brooklyn, its been a frustrating year with the weather. All to often grounds are closed or games are called off. Young and Hungry
- Young & Hungry started life in 1994 at Bats theatre as a series of one act plays designed to give young people, aged between 15-25 years, the opportunity to partake in a professional theatre environment under the direction of professional theatre practitioners. Since then it has significantly grown and is now run by the Young and Hungry Arts Trust.
