9B Cricket Team Wins Final
- St Patricks College, Silverstream
- Saturday 10 December 2011: A fine season was topped off when the Stream 9B Cricket Team played Wellington College 4, at Wellington College, in the Finals of the Junior 3 Grade. In a close fought match, Silverstream batted first to post a commendable 111/9. Wellington College chased hard but were eventually 110 all out, giving Stream a one run victory.

Partial closure of Petone Station platforms - 30 August to mid October

- We’re getting the Petone platform ready for the arrival of the new ‘Matangi’ trains in 2010. From 30 August to mid October, half of each platform will be closed. So if you’re travelling to or from Petone Station make sure you travel in the front 4 carriages of the train, or if you’re on the Wairarapa service use the front 3 carriages.

- The opening day’s play of Round Three of the Wilkinson Pearce Cup saw the top three sides on the back foot in their matches. Leaders Eastern Suburbs were 113 for 4 in reply to Onslow’s first innings score of 278. Karori were 39 for 3 after Wellington Collegians made 236, while Taita were 53 for 1 in reply to University’s 305.

Thrilling win for Firebirds over the Volts

- The few hundred spectators ringing the Hawkins Basin Reserve on a beautiful Wellington day on Tuesday witnessed one of the most thrilling 50-over cricket matches on the ground ever. Otago scored 349 for 7 off their 50 overs and then the Firebirds came out and chased this down - with 8 balls to spare no less - to score 352 for 4.

- After overwhelmingly positive feedback and a heck of a good time, in 2023, Te Aro Eats: Uniting Kai Communities is back for its second year at CubaDupa! Te Aro Eats is a collaborative and interactive dining experience where you are invited to connect with fellow diners, volunteer in the meal mahi, and take time to enjoy the delicious kai that has been created to show what is possible when we mahi together. Brought to life by the volunteers and staff at Seeds to Feeds, Everybody Eats, The Free Store, Wellington Timebank, Kaibosh Food Rescue, and with the support of Kaicycle, BGI (Wellington Boys and Girls Institute), Neighbours Aotearoa, Commonsense Organics and Wellington City Council. Saturday: 12 pm - 2 pm | 4 pm - 6 pm Sunday: 12 pm - 2 pm Each session open to all This meal is designed to showcase how our community-focused organisations operate and welcome volunteers. This will be inclusive (easily catering to vegetarians, vegans, gluten intolerances, and allergies), and created to share the story of our kai and our people. - Operation Details Date/Time: Sat, 13/04/2019 - 11:30 - 15:30 Operation Type: CG Operation (good samaritan) People Assisted: 2 Total Volunteer Hours: 20 6m alluminium commercial fishing boat with 2 people on board broken down and at anchor near the shore just north of Boom Rock. The conditions at the time were rough with a 25-35kt southerly, but the vessel was tucked in near the coast. Vessel was taken under tow by Mana Rescue 1 and returned back to Mana Cruising Club launching ramp.
