Premier v Lower Hutt

- The start of the second round meant we played Lower Hutt out at Fraser Park, in what we hoped was going to be a continuation of our winning ways and the start of us winning away from home, which we had failed to do in the first round, coming away with three draws and a loss.

Wellington City Council sets rates for 2007/08-Another election year
- Bryan Pepperell - Back To The Future
- This is a Council on the run from its own policies and is about to have cardiac arrest. The Deputy Mayor, with his handful of votes that got him elected to Council, senses that CPR might be needed to a Council that is in its death throes now gasping for life with the possibility of an eight percent rate increase to the residents and a two percent increase to the commercial sector.

They are doing a lot with the resources they have and they’d like to do more! For a start they are aiming to have a community event every two months. The next one will be something to celebrate women’s lives and contribution.

Free Walking Solution- Hataitai to CBD

- Would more people walk to work or school from the Eastern suburbs if they didn’t have to use the dark, crowded, loud and smelly Mt Victoria tunnel? Here’s the idea: can WCC and GWRC work together to give walkers a free trip from one side of the Hataitai bus tunnel to the other?Once the bus system is up and running with a bit of spare capacity, think what a boon that could be for walkers.

Hataitai Swimming Club - 1971 to 2008
- Swimming Wellington
- The early 1970s proved a critical period for the club. The clubrooms were not being fully utilised but of course still had to be maintained to health regulation standards. Membership had declined. There was little supervision of the use of the clubrooms at weekends. The public were using the rooms without making any contribution to the upkeep costs. Learn to swim classes at the beach were spasmodic and were becoming less popular. Lessons ceased altogether at Hataitai Beach in 1972 after 61 years.

Record store day 2024 at slow boat!!!
- Slow Boat Records
- Slow Boat is again thrilled to share with you our plans for Record Store Day 2024!! After the success of last year’s event, we have again agreed to co-ordinate with our dear neighbours at 173 Cuba Street, the venerable Flying Nun Records, so that there won’t be any clashes for our respective instore performances, which we are thrilled to announce thus; Flying Nun; 1pm – Living Clipboards – featuring Marineville’s Mark Williams, along with Ghost Club’s Denise Roughan and Jim Abbot – their “All Over Tawa” album is released on the day! Slow Boat; 2pm – Bleeding Star – fresh from the previous weekend’s Otisfest event at San Fran, the excellent Poneke/ Wellington indie guitar band will present their songs in a stripped back, largely acoustic fashion. Flying Nun; 3pm – Cruelly – grungy, punky, shoegazy? Who can say – what it is is life affirming, melodic noise from this young Wellington band – come check it out! Slow Boat; 4pm – Erny Belle (duo) - after the success of her superb second album (on the Flying Nun label), the Tamaki Makaurau/ Auckland based singer songwriter will perform in a duo setting – can’t wait!! We will also be opening at the earlier time of 9am (to give the eager beaver/ early bird RSD queuers an hour less to wait!), and will be bringing you an array of limited RSD vinyl exclusives for your delectation – you know the drill; no holds, no reserves - first in, best fed!! Thoroughly looking forward to what has become a real highlight of the record shop calendar, and to a day where we celebrate vinyl, music, and the culture of the independent record store!! See you all here!!! Xx Team Slow Boat X Team Flying Nun xX

Guardians of Pauatahanui Inlet
- Pāuatahanui Inlet is the only large estuarine wetland left in the lower half of New Zealand's North Island. It is at risk, mainly from human activities in both the Inlet and its catchment. We call ourselves the 'Guardians of Pāuatahanui Inlet' because we work to promote recognition of the ecological, recreational and cultural values of the Inlet.

Friends of Maara Roa
- Maara Roa is a forest restoration project at Cannons Creek Valley near Porirua. Its purpose is to restore the Bush back to what it was before the people who ruined it came. The project started in 2000, after some gorse fires destroyed yet more sections of native bush. A small group of people met to see if something could be done to stop it. The Friends of Maara Roa grew from that.

The life and times of James Walter Chapman-Taylor
- ‘The life and times of James Walter Chapman-Taylor’ enables us to enter into the life and times of a man, a family, a society, and ways of thinking and acting different to, yet not so distant from, our own. We enter the world of an architect, who is also an artist; builder, craftsman; a theosophist, an astrologer, a photographer, a furniture maker.
