- On Tuesday 14 February, Te Papa celebrates 25 years since opening with a new Rautaki | Strategy to take it forward into the future. The museum’s co-leaders, Kaihautū | Māori Co-leader Arapata Hakiwai and Tumu Whakarae | Chief Executive Courtney Johnston, and its Board led by Dame Fran Wilde have embraced a new vision for Te Papa to carry it forward for the next 25 years and beyond. By 14 February 2023, Te Papa will have welcomed more than 34 million visitors since opening. It cares for more than two million items, from ancient fossils to digital artworks, from tiny aphids to ocean-going waka. Wellington City Rural Fire Force
- The Wellington Regional Council formed the WCRFF in 1993. Originally the Force shared residence with the Wellington Free Ambulance at Newtown. The Force moved to its’ own station in Burma Road Johnsonville, in December 1999 and stayed there for 3 ½ years. As the crew numbers increased and the purchase of the tanker the Wellington City Council moved our location to Tawa Depot on the 12th July 2003. Our current station gives us the opportunity to increase our crew numbers to our desired benchmark of 30 as well as housing our entire fleet, which currently consists of 6 vehicles, 4 trailers and a Communication Caravan.
