      • Operation Details Date/Time:  Thu, 13/07/2017 - 12:15 - 15:00 Operation Type:  CG Operation (good samaritan) People Assisted:  3 Total Volunteer Hours:  16 Day 2 of a major southerly storm in Wellington took it's toll on vessels moored in the channel. We initially received a callout from Police to assist a 15m catamaran who's mooring lines had broken in the main channel. Police ended up putting their own small boat in the water and assisted him. Coastguard Mana then continued on and assessed other moored vessels, finding 2 with broken bow lines. One large launch had a secondary line that was holding the vessel on the mooring, but it was very small so we added a new line to it to hold in the 50kt+ wind gusts.       • Operation Details Date/Time:  Mon, 23/01/2012 - 18:15 - 21:30 Operation Type:  CG Operation (good samaritan) People Assisted:  2 Total Volunteer Hours:  29 A 5m runabout with battery fault was reported to Coastguard Mana as anchored just north of Mana Island. Located vessel with 2 people on board with PFD's and hand held radio (no flares, no torch, no GPS) drifting almost 4NM north of their reported location. Initially flat battery - jump started & headed to Paremata boat ramp - motor died opposite Hongeka Bay - run out of fuel - boat taken under tow @ 2025.       • The Wellington Regional Council formed the WCRFF in 1993. Originally the Force shared residence with the Wellington Free Ambulance at Newtown. The Force moved to its’ own station in Burma Road Johnsonville, in December 1999 and stayed there for 3 ½ years. As the crew numbers increased and the purchase of the tanker the Wellington City Council moved our location to Tawa Depot on the 12th July 2003. Our current station gives us the opportunity to increase our crew numbers to our desired benchmark of 30 as well as housing our entire fleet, which currently consists of 6 vehicles, 4 trailers and a Communication Caravan.
