Result: Twilight 5k Series - Race 6
- Olympic Harriers
- There were good conditions for race with only a light breeze. A slight deviation of the course to avoid a large Marquee meant the turn was a little further out but the GPS users seemed to think the course length was on the money. Fastest time for the male runners was from Levente Timar with a very quick 15:50 (and a personal best for the series). Stephanie Mackenzie was the first woman runner in 18:12. Terri Grimmett lead the walkers home with a 31:06 finish followed by Geoff Iremonger for the men with 33:31. Thanks to the sponsors Lifestyle sports & the Chicago bar for their continuing support and to the helpers at registration and with timekeeping & marshalling.

Cinephilia: Opening This Week
- The Wellingtonista
- Pick of the week at the movies must be The Wrestler, Mickey Rourke's triumphant return to major leagues after years wandering in the wilderness. It's a comeback of sorts for director Darren Aronofsky, too. His last film, The Fountain, was a strange and beautiful fable about trying to escape death but he's probably best-known for Requiem for a Dream, nine years ago. Rourke plays a rung-out and stru

With Christmas just around the corner, we really need to find a place to stay for some of our pups. Dog fosterers play a very important role at Wellington SPCA by providing short-term accommodation to dogs in our care, when we just simply don’t have the space for them at our shelters.

Result: Twilight Series - event 1
- Olympic Harriers
- The conditions weren’t too bad for running, considering what was forecast, although there was a fresh southerly which kept things cool and slowed the outward progress a little, but aided on the homeward journey. There were 83 runners and walkers who turned up for the 15th race in Waterfront 5km Series, no doubt some being put off by the forecast and not being prepared for the better than expected conditions.

A City for People
- Decades of inaction have meant house prices are out of control, while old rental properties rot out from underneath us. A whole generation of people are at risk of being forced out from the central city into new suburbs sprawling north, spending hours every day in traffic jams. We believe the Spatial Plan will allow Wellington to plan for the future so that new generations of Wellingtonians can share the city we love, and have a chance to live in a home that is affordable, accessible, healthy and warm.

- After more than 30 years of working closely alongside whānau and hapori (communities) in Porirua, the Hutt Valley and Wellington, we at Wesley have learnt first-hand that with the right support, sustainable responses to complex issues can be driven by hapori themselves. We’ve been working out, as a community organization, what our part is in sparking the local community economic systems that truly value what makes people’s lives better.
