February 2012: New work by Regan Gentry
- Wellington Sculpture Trust
- Colin McCahon’s famous waterfall paintings are being realised with an 11m high waterfall, McCahon Incarnation by Regan Gentry, installed on the western (city library) end of Wellington’s City Gallery. The work opened on 23 February 2012 as part of City Gallery’s Obstinate Object sculpture exhibition and runs until June 2012. The exhibition coincides with Wellington’s International Arts Festival. McCahon Incarnation is the third work the Wellington Sculpture Trust has commissioned from Regan, others being, Subject to Change (2007) on Karo Drive, and Green Islands, originally on the Plinths and now in the Botanic Garden.

Pizzas and Powell Hut – Tararua Forest Park

Lizzie has come home
- Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club (Inc)
- Just over one hundred years after she was built, in almost the same spot, Lizzie has returned home. On a lovely Wellington afternoon and with a spring tide sailing academy manager Matthew Wood joined Gavin Pascoe and his team of Lizzie supporters to tow her around to Clyde Quay Boat Harbour from Evans Bay. With a few strategic hits of a hammer the slipway jumped back into action and before you knew it Lizzie was back in her birth place. Gavin and his team will now begin restoring her back to her former glory and we look forward to her flying the club burgee and sailing again on the Harbour.

Friends of Te Papa
- Friends of Te Papa, formerly Friends of the National Art Gallery, was founded to encourage involvement with the gallery and support the acquisition of new works for the collection. For more than 20 years, our valued Friends of Te Papa members have supported Te Papa by contributing to Te Papa’s collections through the purchase of artworks, taonga, and other collection items, by regularly visiting Te Papa to view exhibitions and attending a wide range of programmes.

Friends of Maara Roa
- Maara Roa is a forest restoration project at Cannons Creek Valley near Porirua. Its purpose is to restore the Bush back to what it was before the people who ruined it came. The project started in 2000, after some gorse fires destroyed yet more sections of native bush. A small group of people met to see if something could be done to stop it. The Friends of Maara Roa grew from that.

The life and times of James Walter Chapman-Taylor
- ‘The life and times of James Walter Chapman-Taylor’ enables us to enter into the life and times of a man, a family, a society, and ways of thinking and acting different to, yet not so distant from, our own. We enter the world of an architect, who is also an artist; builder, craftsman; a theosophist, an astrologer, a photographer, a furniture maker.
