Review: An Old-Fashioned Lesbian Love Story
- Salient
- Whisking us back to a world of swing jazz and giggle juice, Bars Behind Bars is an immersive experience. From the moment the audience enters, the actors are scattered about, welcoming us, having secret conversations in the hallway, sending us back in time. The show begins with a fourth-wall-breaking introduction to the characters and their lives at The Cat’s Pajamas, an illicit bar in Manhattan during the prohibition. When the bar’s owner is murdered in the back room, his wife Annie is the primary suspect of the interrogation.

Nada Bakery
- Nada Bakery has always been a family business with Peter's wife Judith heavily involved and their three children including son Michael began baking at a young age. So when Peter sadly passed away in 2005 it made perfect sense for Judith and Michael to take over the business. In 2010, they expanded to Tawa opening a new bakery and cafe where customers could dine in on the amazing baked goods and great coffee and, in 2017, opened The Bakery Basket an online branch with delivery across New Zealand.

Mount Street Cemetery
- The Mount Street Cemetery was the first cemetery in Wellington for Catholic burials and contains the graves of the first nuns and priests in Wellington. It remained open until 1891 although burials continued in existing family plots until 1954. The earliest surviving grave marker dates from 1851, and the latest from 1954. Although only around 200 headstones survive, it is estimated that there could have been as many as 750 to 800 burials. Many of the early markers were simple wooden crosses, which have long since vanished.
