OHV Perfect in Canterbury

- While other members were busy at the OY at Waitarere or taking on the rogaining world in the Australian outback, Gavin Scott and Nic Gorman showed that OHV can't be beaten, while competing in PAPO's Canterbury Champs. The only two club members taking part in a double-header weekend, Gavin (M60A) and Nic (M21AS) came away with 4 grade wins from 4 starts.

- Operation Details Date/Time: Thu, 26/12/2019 - 15:15 - 16:15 Operation Type: CG Operation (good samaritan) People Assisted: 2 Total Volunteer Hours: 4 Whilst travelling out to do another tow job we spotted a vessel adrift with apparent engine problems. We came alongside to check they were ok and they couldn't get their engine going. They thought they would be able to, so we carried on with the other job. On the way back we passed them and they asked for assistance which they agreed to. We returned after dropping off the other vessel and towed them home to Mana Marina. Wellington City Rural Fire Force
- The Wellington Regional Council formed the WCRFF in 1993. Originally the Force shared residence with the Wellington Free Ambulance at Newtown. The Force moved to its’ own station in Burma Road Johnsonville, in December 1999 and stayed there for 3 ½ years. As the crew numbers increased and the purchase of the tanker the Wellington City Council moved our location to Tawa Depot on the 12th July 2003. Our current station gives us the opportunity to increase our crew numbers to our desired benchmark of 30 as well as housing our entire fleet, which currently consists of 6 vehicles, 4 trailers and a Communication Caravan.
