    • Shedding Dreads for the Night Shelter
      • Like the line from the song, Tyler Ennis is getting a haircut and hopefully getting a real job. But this is a haircut with a difference. He plans to stand in lower Cuba Mall and charge passers by $20 to cut off a lock of hair. It all happens Saturday 20th June at midday outside Custom Printed Clothing. All the money raised will go to the Wellington Night Shelter.

    • 60 years of Wellington Trolley Buses
      • Strictly speaking, Wellington's first trolley bus was a single 20 kW one from 1924 which ran along the Hutt Road for a while. However, the main fleet of trolley buses began in 1949 with the arrival of 10 Crossley/Metropolitan Vickers 78 kW examples (another 4 of this model also went to New Plymouth). The first route they were used on was was Oriental Bay where they shared the road with trams for 15 months.

    • Down the toilet
      • The little side street at the Taranaki Street end of Courtenay Place has been due for big changes for a while, and now it all looks like it's finally happening. In June, work will start on closing the street and turning it into a pocket park: more details will be released by the council in a couple of weeks. Also, the long-abandoned toilet block which has been the subject of various suggestions over the years, will undergo a more predictable but nonetheless welcome transformation.

    • BNU Public Service 9 - {Porirua} City 1
      • Woo hoo. An excellent win on the weekend. A comprehensive thrashing of a team that probably should have done better but was beaten down by a Public Service that is starting to come into its own once again. An offence that has now realised 20 goals in its last three games and a defence that has given up only five goals in the ten matches played this season, suggest that this team is only getting better.

    • Nada Bakery
      • Nada Bakery has always been a family business with Peter's wife Judith heavily involved and their three children including son Michael began baking at a young age. So when Peter sadly passed away in 2005 it made perfect sense for Judith and Michael to take over the business. In 2010, they expanded to Tawa opening a new bakery and cafe where customers could dine in on the amazing baked goods and great coffee and, in 2017, opened The Bakery Basket an online branch with delivery across New Zealand.
