Students have been very busy creating their own artwork that can be printed onto calendars, cards, diaries, mouse mats and sketch pads (spiral bound A5 notebook with blank pages) that are available for you to buy. All orders are to be placed online via the KidsArtWorks website. Orders cannot be made via the school by cash or on the school account. Here is the timeline: Friday 31st July, each student will bring home a named order code form (like the one below) that will have a unique code that is linked to their artThe Kids Artworks website is then live and open for viewing art and purchasing products.  To avoid missing out, please submit orders between Friday 31st July and Sunday 16th AugustFINAL ORDERS - the website is closed at 10am on Monday 17th August and no late orders will be accepted.  Purchased items will be delivered to school mid September and will be given to students to bring home There are samples at the office if you would like to have a closer look at sizing, details, or quality before placing your order online. Took up position mid point port side of Endevour and the following Waka in line with Bluebride Rescue on the bow of the Endevour port side roughly 150 to 200 Metres off the Endevour.  Both Sprit of Wellington and Talleys Marine Rescue were on the Starboard side.  This created the exclusion zone which we maintained all the way to Picton.       • Operation Details Date/Time:  Sun, 31/05/2020 - 15:00 - 17:00 Operation Type:  SAROP Cat 1 People Assisted:  3 Total Volunteer Hours:  2 A vessel had been calling for a tow from South of Rock Point, Maritime radio picked up the request and rebroadcast but no other vessels offered to assist and Police called Coastguard. As our crew were arriving at the base another vessel coming in from the North heard the radio call and offered to assist. Police requested that Coastguard confirm that all was ok with the tow so we went out and checked.       • Operation Details Date/Time:  Sat, 26/12/2020 - 09:10 - 16:00 Operation Type:  SAROP Cat 1 People Assisted:  2 Total Volunteer Hours:  75 A 15m yacht broke its rudder approximately 2NM west of Mana Island whilst crossing to the South Island. MR1 was tasked by Police to tow them home. By the time we got to them the wind had got up to 25-35kts and they had drifted 7NM west of Mana Island. We towed them back in challenging conditions and put them at anchor just outside the Mana bar, as they were unable to cross it at low tide. Engine would not start. MR1 was sent to the scene and started the recovery actions. Big Bens crew was split with 4 on MR1 and 4 remaining on board. CRV Pelorus took some new recruits off Trust Porirua Rescue (that had been training) and TPR immediately responded to the scene. Light was fading by this stage and finding the dinghy in the dark was very difficult as they did not have any form of lighting or signalling equipment with them, no VHF, and their cellphone battery was dying - an all too common occurance!       • Operation Details Date/Time:  Tue, 05/02/2013 - 09:00 - 10:00 Operation Type:  CG Operation (good samaritan) People Assisted:  2 Total Volunteer Hours:  5 The Harbour Master requested the assistance of Coastguard Mana to help resolve a situation caused by severe southerly winds overnight.  A catamaran in Porirua Harbour had slipped its anchor and drifted into a trimaran moored nearby.  Both yatchs were caught together and the strong southerlies had caused the trimaran to puncture the cat above the water line. The owners were on board and declined assistance. The tow was transferred to Porirua Rescue and two men were also transferred from the dinghy to increase free board on the dinghy. The dinghy was towed to the Paremata Bridge launch ramp. The two men on Porirua Rescue were dropped off at the Mana Marina Coastguard berth.
