      • The Friday 26 August deadline for submissions to NZTA regarding the Wellington inner-city transport projects is getting closer.  We believe this is an important issue for everyone to give feedback on.  Option X will tunnel State Highway One under Memorial Park, providing a space which will respect our war dead, and allow reflection and commemoration.

      • A controversial decision by Wellington Soccer to close the home of football, resulted in a late ground and time change to 12.30 at McAllister Park. The guys turned up, still obviously miffed by this disappointment. It is every young Karori players dream to run out onto on the No.1 turf in the 2.30 time slot when the whole community can be heard cheering on the black and whites from the welcoming pavilion balcony setting.

    • The Great Escape - Karori Slapperz 3 - Naenae 3
      • On a Saturday that everyone assumed the games would be cancelled the mighty Karori Slapperz were transferred to Adventure Park in Whitby. After a mission for some of the fellas to find the park we assembled out the front of the changing rooms on what was actually a fine day for a game of football, sunny with a light southerly breeze. The team managed to pick itself due to injuries and absences.

      • Easter Monday came around all too quick for my liking, considering only 48 hours prior we'd had a physical encounter against a youthful Lower Hutt side. Still, it's the same for both sides, and both Stop Out and Island Bay turned up at Hutt Park Raceway determined to put in a good showing despite the windy weather. We started in to the wind, and tried to play Football by keeping the ball on the dec

      • A hearty welcome back to Naenae, whom we hadn't played against in top flight football for a number of years. This of course creates the issue of not knowing how they play, who was dangerous, and how we could bet them. Coaches problems really. The weather had been horrible all week, but on Saturday Wakefield Park was bathed in sunshine, and still (Yes, you read it - Still!!)Our guys turned up to pla

    • Serepisos – the name that won’t go away
      • The Terry Serepisos name re-appeared today as an election issue – this time for the mayor of Hutt City who seems to have said too much about the property developer’s overdue rates. But in Wellington, since Mayor Kerry Prendergast’s meetings with the Serepisos-owned Phoenix football team to discuss its request for financial support from ratepayers, the city council has tried to make the Serepisos name go away, by saying nothing at all.
