Fear and Loathing
- WellUrban
- The Dominion Post have followed up their lists of the best and worst buildings in Wellington (selected by the Architectural Centre) by telling us what "we" like and "loathe". It's not clear from the article exactly who "we" are: it seems to be a combination of reader's letters in response to the other lists, random vox pops, pupils from Upper Hutt College, and Russell Walden.

Welcomes and Congratulations
- Amesbury Drive School Blog
- Welcome back to term 3. It was lovely to see all the smiling faces as students arrived at school yesterday. I hope everyone managed to enjoy their holidays and have begun the term feeling refreshed and ready for a HUGE term of learning. We are excited about this term. Our student achievement data from terms 1 and 2 is looking pretty good. However, as a staff, we met yesterday to discuss how we can continue to improve the achievement of our students over the next two terms.

- As one of HM the Queen’s loyal and humble servants, I wish her a happy 90th birthday and include this YouTube video of one of her most memorable moments of recent times. A bit of the ‘Dambusters March’ can’t go wrong, either. It shows the Queen to have a particularly good sense of humour.

And other stories
- Katherine Mansfield House
- To mark the centenary of the publication of Katherine Mansfield's third short story collection, 'The Garden Party and Other Stories', we held a winter series of readings with Wellington writers. We asked each writer to choose one of the lesser-known stories from the collection to read out loud and chat about on a Sunday afternoon. This blog post outlines the notes from each discussion.
