    • CONGRATULATIONS JESSE TASHKOFF AND NICK GREENWOOD, JOINING LOGAN VAN BEEK WITH WELLINGTON FIREBIRED CONTRACTS
      • A great result for two of our premier players in the latest Wellington Firebirds contract announcement. Nick Greenwood has been rewarded with his first contract off the back of consistent performances for Jersey and Taita. Jesse Tashkoff, who has joined Taita from Hutt this season, also attains his first Firebird contract Fan favourite Logan van Beek was never in doubt for a renewal of his contract, recently being a standout performer in the current ICC Cricket World Cup qualifiers for Netherlands. Congratulations to both of the lads!

    • TAITA PREMIER COACH 2020/21
      • Taita Cricket Player/Coach 2020/21 Taita Cricket welcomes Deepak Joon to the club for the 2020/21 cricket season as our player coach. Deepak is an outstanding level three coach, he is currently the head coach of the Under-23 at Assam Cricket Association in India. In addition to his coaching credentials, Deepak is an outstanding batsman both at club and first-class level, he has played 19 first class games scoring 791 runs with an average of 25, with a top score of 113. Deepak will be an exciting addition to the Taita Premier team as player coach for the coming season. Deepak said “I am looking forward to play/coach at Taita Cricket, young bunch of players and talented cricketers.” On behalf of all Taita players and supporters, Welcome to Taita Deepak.     • 7th TAITANIUM LUNCH
      • On Saturday 4th of February Taita Cricket celebrated its 7th Taitanium Lunch. This event was used to recognise Mark Houghton, Taita Premier Captains 200th Premier game. Mark first played Premier for Taita in 2002/03 season. He has scored seven hundreds and is the highest run scorer in our History with over 5300 runs. We were very fortunate to have Mark Sorenson a Hutt Valley and NZ Softball legend as our key note speaker. A great day was held by all

Mark first played Premier for Taita in 2002/03 season. He has scored seven hundreds and is the highest run scorer in our History with over 5300 runs. To recognize this achievement we have asked Mark Sorenson to be the Guest Speaker. Entry is free to existing Taitanium members and $30 to all other attendees. This fee includes the lunch. As you will be aware, Mark Sorenson is a former New Zealand softball player. He captained the national side, the Black Sox from 1989 to 2001, and again in 2004, and led them to three successive ISF world championship wins, in 1996, 2000, and 2004. He retired in 2007. In 2010, Sorenson was inducted into the International Softball Congress Hall of Fame. He was inducted into the New Zealand Sports Hall of Fame at the 2016 Halberg Awards
