Box up your Books for the Book Fair
- Downtown Community Ministry
- Downtown Community Ministry needs your books for Wellington’s big annual Book Fair. The Book Fair is held in September at the TSB Arena has a staggering number of books, DVDs, Vinyl records and CDs that are donated each year and then sold to people to reuse and enjoy. Coordinator David Cross says, “It’s a fantastic way of redistributing unused items to people who want them and it raises incredible funding for DCM’s work in the city”. But first Downtown Community Ministry needs to collect the thousands of books and other items needed for the fair. Wheelibins will be placed at churches and community centres throughout the city for people to drop off their books. For a list of these locations please see www.dcm.org.nz

From Mike’s Desk …
- Karori Baptist Church
- I’ve been really enjoying visiting KBC home groups over the last few weeks. It’s been great to see various groups “in operation”, and to experience the life and love and diversity of these groups. I’ve been reminded how important small groups are in the life of a church community. It’s through these groups that so much of the reality of Christian community is

- Every once in a while, I read something I’ve written previously, and think, “That was actually quite profound!” It happened this week - when I read what I had written in the first KBC newsletter of the year, in my first week back at work after being on holiday. Here’s some of what I wrote then: I’ve decided that I’m not very fond of this time of the year!
